if someone know's the capacity maybe all "the club looks small" comments will end

as far as a dress code, i've yet to walk into a club that enforces one and feel like i belong...but that's me...i'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy

it does look nice though, i just hope you're right that its bigger then it appears.

Dont worry. The room you are looking at here is the small room called Vision. You havnt even seen the main room yet... JUST WAIT.

If you think the small room is impressive it literally doesnt even have 1/10 the lighting that the main room does. Im going to be like a kid in a candy store!

I can assure you that those were taken of the small room. Those pics apparently were taken without permission. However I dont think management really cares because they are nice pictures and it seems to be making people talk.

I have to go into that room today and do some programming.

I'll still be doing Fridays at Viva. I'll be doing the rest of the events at Republik including Saturdays.

Posted by techead on Jan-28-2005 13:19:

so what desk did you get for viva ?

the largest indoor smoking room in the city. for as long as those are allowed.

eventho, i don't understand why they would waste such a nice room for smokers. everyone knows that after one night of being open smokers will trash that place.

Posted by arek on Jan-28-2005 13:37:

Thumbs up

club reminds me of starwars

Posted by cono_sur on Jan-28-2005 13:55:

Looks really good!!! Can't wait to go there.

WOW! The club is top notch. What a nice venue. We're really lucky to be in Toronto.

Because contrary to what most whiners will tell you, smokers are the ones who pay the bills at clubs and bars. The majority of people in society are non smokers but the majority of people at clubs and bars ARE smokers. The smoking room is "wasted" so that the minority of non-smokers can club without breathing smoke. Or at least thats what the idea was before this weak-kneed government took that comprimise away.

For sure. Clubs like this are not afraid to spend money thats for sure.

CLubs in Ibiza for example are technically not nearly as nice as here (except they have a beach) and they charge 50 Euros.

I'll give this club a shot, but it's gonna really take something extremely special to tear me away from my boa addiction.

Agreed! But I still think having a beach is better than -20 degrees!!

Posted by starsearcher on Jan-28-2005 15:10:

Well the reason they charge 50 euros is because THEY CAN!

The reason you are there is to party in the clubs - the club owners can charge 75 Euros and the business will still be booming But, over time a new 'cheaper' spot might come along.

Either way you're going to IBIZA to party - if you just want beach there are lots of other places so...50 euros, although a lot of dough, sounds good from a business owner's point of view

Posted by parad0x on Jan-28-2005 17:03:

in my mind if im down to party ill pay what i need to in order to party. as soon as you worry to hard about funds you stop to have a good time

Posted by VERTiG0 on Jan-28-2005 17:47:

WWWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWW

Give me uber trance there and I'll die a happy man.

It's a nice club and everything and I'll definately be checking it out. But I'm very worried about the crowd that will end up being the majority...

Posted by newr on Jan-28-2005 18:07:

you may hav to consider emigration one day

i know that atleast for my sake, i can't see myself limiting myself to just System and Boa as far as the crowds go .. we're part of the reason why the club will carry a certain crowd .. so if we keep going it might encourage other like minded people to go

I think the REPUBLIK guys understand that you have to spend money to make money. If you make the extra effort to give people a product with your target audience in mind then the effort will show and people will be more likely to come back.
