with so many prefering the old version i hope G&D will include it if they ever gonna make an album (not like Bloom but like what do you call it, a pure G&D album..)

i bet Dresden read this sometime so hope they listen to the fans like MIKE does

the club mix is the "mp3" that everyone is listening to, which apparently isnt seeing a release? someone please tell me im wrong, i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVe the club mix!!!!

Posted by civicstyle on Feb-01-2005 21:35:

I like both versions. At first listen i hated the version that is getting released, but after hearing Gabriel and Dresden drop it twice live as well as PvD dropping it a few times live, i must say i LOVE BOTH VERSIONS!!! I do admit, it took a few listens to adjust from the unfinished version that was on the Essential Mix to that which is now, but they both rock in their own sense. Try hearing it live, "on a high" and just drift into the beats. So much fun to sing along to like that a la SkyVue on Fri Jan 21 2004

I heard that the version from the Essential Mix was just an early version of the track, Josh worked on it some more and came up with the one that's being played in livesets and was on Bloom.

im sorry, ill be one of the most staunch supporters of the original forever. listening to it again i cant help but love the flow, the changes and everything.

from what i remember hearing this live, all the chill midrange bass parts were replaced by excessive bass - and that just doesnt fly. bass does not make the song great. good perhaps, but not great on account of bass|

CHRIST! That's not the point...the point is that for people like myself who do not own record players, why can't labels and artists simply make some releases avialable digitally (through Beatport or similar sites) or on CD5"? They are the ones who lose tons of sales because of this and encourage those who do not have record players to download...THAT'S my point.

that happy plinky 'nintendo' riff just does not fly

tis a shame i loved the original flow

Definitely have to agree here - the added noises don't cut it and seem to counteract the whole mood of the song. ::turns on essential mix::

3/10 for this release. Would rather spend my money on something else.

I thought the vocals were o.k until I found out that the whole song was about his son.

I think that once you learn the personal message and reasons behind a song it can hit closer to home for you.

I took a listen to the Carrera Remix. Good God, Josh Gabriel could have found a much better B Side for the vinyl. Can't compare to the original at all. Still loving those plinky Nintendo riffs.

pretty weak release

Posted by peterdj on Feb-09-2005 10:31:

I love this song... I love the emotion and the fact that it is so personal. I'm guessing most of you guys know a little bit of the history of the track, which I think makes the song that much more special.

It is one of the songs I love painting to.

the version from the Essential Mix does it for me.

Love is in the air

amazin tune!! grabbin the vinyl this week

Posted by wwu.punisher on Feb-10-2005 02:10:

The version of this track played during the Gabriel & Dresden Essential Mix was NOT the original mix, for the last time. It was Paul's mix. What's so hard to understand about that?

We'll probably see a release on Paul's mix, eventually, but not any time within the next few months, unfortunately.

Deal with it.

Ice cream truck music indeed. The version from PVD'S creme 09-16-2004 set is much better. Im assuming its the same from the G&D set.

um lol, no.. the one in the amnesia closing set is the same as on the vinyl

Got this yesterday. Original mix is amazing. Blows me away every time. Dub is ok, just cut out most of the vocals. DJ Carrera remix is crap though.

9/10 for the whole release.

Posted by AlphaStarred on Feb-12-2005 16:49:

i think i actually prefer the Dj Carrera mix to all of them...

O.K so I finally heard the vinyl rip of the track and I'm even more disappointed than the version I heard on Bloom
