| [i][b] didnt like the dj booth set up on stage...so gay. |
its a little more personal from djs to crowd, so i can see how the djs would like it...MAYBE. the main dj booth has to be so much nicer then the school dance set up...lol. but if u wanna watch the djs u stare at an ugly end of the club. a big black wall. dont get me wrong the night was awesome, if some bugs were worked out it coulda been one of top night for me...light guy sucked. no CO2!!! love that shit...and the dj set up. props to relode abd godskitchen for bringing in the names.
I had a good time. Spent more money than I wanted to, but oh well.
I must say that I thought Josh & Dave's playing was really improved over the last time I saw them (last feb.). Things seemed to flow a lot better and the crowd was really into it.
It was funny how there was not enough humidity in the room for the LN2 to work. I kept hearing it go off but did not see a cloud of fog but the angel balloon was flapping around from the blast of air. Hehe.
All in all it was a good time.
MrS
yeah, i didn't recognize any of you TAs there once again
i had a great time.....the set was great...i just wish they would have ditched the opening sarah mclaugilin rage track....
i hate that song. at least they got it out of the way.
i also wish they would have spreaded the cheese a little thinner, but it was alright......superb mixing really got the crowd going. it was crowded on the dancefloor and the asshole ratio was higher but the tunes made up for it.
good stuff
Sorry I didnt meet and greet anyone, I was there from about 11 to 3 on the third level next to the godskitchen sign. Left right when accadia (sp?) started... ive got some crazy flu that is wiping the shit out of me. I enjoyed it alot. First time to see G&D and would gladly go back!!
Things I liked alot. Opener (the guy in the white striped shirt) he did an excellent job of pumping everyone up. Loved the funky bass lines in alot of his songs. G&D rocked and I loved how Josh looked like a little kid singing with the music, it showed how much heart he has in this and I admire that.
Things I hated.... the blonde asia girl at the front of the stage (her hair reminded me of Alien) and the douche with the fucking whistle. I almost threw an ash tray at him...
anyone have a T/L yet? I knew alot of the songs, but there were a ton that I didnt know....
Also.. Did he play Alive after 3am? if so I am gunna be pissed!!
good to see the TAs last night and to meet some new ones
i'll try to remember your names
like mrsquirrel - i spent way too much money.
g&d have definitely improved since the last time i saw them - about 2 years ago. the dancefloor was crazy last night - went down for about 5 minutes just to get a feel for it and it was packed and the crowd was lovin' it
see some of ya at wmc

Okay, some tracks I can recognize:
Duncan Sheik - On A High (G&D Love Humboldt Mix)
Annie Lennox - Pavement Cracks (G&D Club Mix)
Nickola Gala - Swing 2 Harmony (Resurrection Remix?)
Way Out West - Mindcircus? (? Mix)
Andain - Beautiful Things (G&D Remix)
Above & Beyond - No One On Earth (G&D Remix)
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto Mix?)
Tiesto ft. Josh Gabriel - Walking on the Clouds?
Dave Gahan - Dirty Sticky Floors?
Beber & Tomara - Travelling on (G&D Mix)
Those are a few I can recall off the top of my head. I'm not familiar with the tracks on Bloom. Someone mentioned Josh Gabriel - Alive and Rachel Starr - Till There Was You were dropped. And for some reason, I thought I heard Rowan Blades & Chris Lak - Filth (Greed is Evil Mix) from Sander K's Cd. I know I could be wrong on a few of these. I know my music, but I don't know it that well. Gabriel & Dresden's set was pretty decent compared to the other two times I've seen them at Vision. I'm not 100% sure, but I didn't realize that Dave was dancing on the mainfloor for a while before the set. Their set was a little bit more harder than I expected. I don't know, I thought it was a good set. Nothing to rave about. They definitely kept the energy going, diverse tracks, and it's great to watch Dave and Josh work the decks.
The setup on stage is different. Like Phanta C said, having the Djs closer to the crowd creates a more intimate atmosphere and energy than in the second floor booth. For example, anyone who caught Way Out West last year would know what I am talking about. But, the stage doesn't provide a lot a room and viewing area for the crowd or club employees. So, it's only "half gay." It's kind of funny to watch the crowd trip over the steps while trying to dance or get closer to the Djs. I wonder what Vision's plans are.
THANK YOU, lucid! I really appreciate you introducing me to a few of the TAs. It was great to finally meet lucid, ctprincess, and D&G Girl, as well as Skylar and his girlfriend. Forgive me if I forget your names. I normally go solo to Vision (and Soundbar), with the exception of my clubbing buddies Melus and Georgette, but I would really like to meet more TAs. There were a few of you that I only made acquaintances and small talk with. I spoke with Mazi briefly, and told him that each set I hear from him gets better everytime. It was cool to say hello to him. His opening set for Sander K was insane! lucid, ctprincess, and D&G Girl; You girls are diverse, interesting, and awesome to hang out and talk with. I hope we get a chance to do it again sometime soon. PM me for contact information and stuff, if you're cool with that.
Highlight of the evening: Above & Beyond - No One On Earth, and listening to the crowd sing the lyrics. It was cool.
Okay, one more thing and then I'll go. Does anyone have pics?
Gabriel and Dresdon
I went to g&d over the weekend.. thought it was awesome.. had a great time dancing all night. Already planning my next trip from Milwaukee to Chicago!

glad you all had a good time..I was thinking about going but was tired from 12 hours of work earlier that day.
I woke up with this morning and had a voicemail from Kael, whom many of you know. Ya hes the guy in the Ultra video from last years WMC. It was five minutes of music, I have no idea which song, along with people talking in the background. So I got a glimpse of how it was

| Originally posted by buchnaner yah dude, they did, and it was HOOOOJ! i was so glad to hear it, i couldn't stop smiling throughout the whole set and that was just the icing on the cake. after hearing that they aren't very good live, i was super impressed w/ the show and the mixing. they started off using decks and cdj's i think, and then moved onto the powerbook. some GREAT tracks in their set, i'd be interested in both a setlist and pics too track of the night... the killers song w/ lyrics "it was only a kiss"...can't remember the name of it, but man, what a bomb to drop on the crowd can't wait to see them @ WMC!!!!!! |

Hey everybo! Lisa and I had a great time. It was good to see the TAs again even though I have a hard time understanding anyone's speech in a club.
The dance floor was truely packed. We were getting bumped and jostled pretty good right after they came on but 45 mins later we were able to carve ourselves out a little spot near what is now the rear of the dancefloor. We were lucky enough to be there when they dropped the Killers.
I managed to lose only one beer to the empty bottle natzi.
