I'm pretty sick of baseball, I'll admit, but the NFL/NCAA Football are awesome. Just because you can't handle the downtime, doesn't mean it's a shitty sport. Tennis has a lot of downtime, and I love it too, not to mention golf. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not a great sport and thousands of other people like it. And Masonious had a point about Rugby vs. Football. People in pads go a lot more all out and hit a whole hell of a lot harder. Not to mention you get hit with helmets and pads, rather than human body parts. It doesn't even make sense to compare the two.

basketball requires so much less than "soccer", you don't even really need to run alot. you'll get a long way just by being tall.
anyways i like both sports. used to play basketball, hehe we had these crazy christian american coaches that were really serious about winning the league which meant alot of bench sitting :/, i still play football for fun with friends

i think soccer is widely played at younger ages...and maybe that is the reason he says that...but i dunno...

and i moved on to ultimate only after playing soccer for 8 years and i'm going to dare to say that ultimate's right up there as far as requiring great physical and mental toughness
its a non-contact sport and self officiated for the most part, so people tend to dismiss it, but its by far the most amazing sport i've ever both watched or taken part in (my high school team was national champions last year)

unfortunately, none of these are real great games
and one thing to keep in mind
when it comes to nationals etc in ultimate frisbee, the tournaments aren't spread out over a week or anything like most sports
even at the closest to pro we have, we'll have tourneys where the winners play 8 games, and they take place over at most 3 days (4 games one day, 3 the next, finals on the last day)

and its understandable that most people don't get the strategy behind baseball, they need some sort of contact, or a bright shiny light to keep their attention.

and would you play any sport against a pack of Chimps? i dont think so theyd rip you head off....literally.

As for American Football, I just don't understand why you'd want to watch a sport where it's stopped most of the time (maybe explosive/very strategic?)?

I could go on to basicly anyother sport and slate it, it'd just show how little I know about that particular sport.
