they're trying to find the best way to break it to us that it will be them 2 tagging for 8 hours...

Posted by wolverine16 on Mar-15-2005 04:46:

I'm surprised that the list hasn't been finalized yet, but Chris had said they had Spring Break this week and I haven't seen him on AIM the past few days so hopefully Dan and him will check in soon with some more info if they already skipped town.

What time is this going on till? I have a game that night at 7, hopefully i'll be out of the gym by 9:00-9:30. How far is this from Ft. Wayne?

I believe it is set to go until around 4 am. Lafayette is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Ft. Wayne, which is quite a distance, but you'd have about 4 1/2 hours there before it would possibly start to wind down. Hope you can make it!

hey phreek, how about that equipment? since the venue was changed from our first ideas, is that all still gunna be available or does the place already have a decent system? thats a damn impressive list... do we need anything else that us DJ's might be able to bring?
quote:

2 pair of Tech 12s
pair of Numark Axis 9s
pair of CDN-88s
various mixers
Denon DN-S1000
4 microphones
12 15-in cabinets
4 subwoofers in various configurations
8 intelligent lights
8 par lights
3 projection lasers
1 arial display laser
high power wide are blacklight
2 light stands
1 lighting truss system

also... where are you out of towners staying? i have no qualms about getting a hotel, but if anyone has some space at their place i wouldn't mind sleeping on the floor... or even in my car in the driveway haaha i was thinking of doing the drive friday so i don't have to worry about getting out there early enough, so phreek or dan if you guys need any help the day before with setup or anything let me know and i'll definitely plan on coming friday!

yes, but all too often something asinine comes up...

Posted by tylerc on Mar-16-2005 05:33:

i was just planning on finding a cheap ass hotel. but if there's an open floor somewhere that sounds cheaper.

i'm trying to get single copies pressed of a few of my tunes so i can drop some original shit during my set. but if there will be cdjs there then i just might skip that.

lookin forward to meeting all of you.

btw, if you guys really need more sound i might be able to fit a couple speakers along with me.

Posted by wolverine16 on Mar-16-2005 08:18:

I'm planning to head out to Purdue Friday night with some friends and stay at a hotel. I'll help set up as well, if needed. If anyone will be around then and knows of some parties or bars, we should start the madness then!

Posted by denys envy on Mar-16-2005 09:19:

well certainly sucks that the braski Aristronica couldn't make it on the DJ list, but i probably suck and would've em-bare-assed myself, so i'm cool with just coming down having a few drinks and meeting you guys

later

Posted by jam.iii on Mar-16-2005 14:49:

wolverine let me know which hotel you guys are staying at if i go that route... and aristronica you should still bring some tunes with you, who knows what will happen by then

i don't know if you guys are familiar with the equipment (CD decks / mixer) but i've never used any of those so maybe it would be wise for some of us to be there a bit early and just do a once over with the stuff... i'm using pioneer CDJ-700s / numark DM3002x mixer right now so if their similar in operation no worries

Will do, we'll probably make a reservation sometime next week.

Yeah, Aristronica, bring some records and your headphones. Someone might not show up last minute, there might be extra time or I might do my best DJ Tiesto impression and get to drunk to spin after a few tracks.

I was thinking the same thing on the equipment. I just want to check the calibration and makesure I know where everything is. Since the flier says doors at 8, I'm assuming there will be plenty of time beforehand.

+1 Pair CDJ 800's...

I'm probably not going to leave until Saturday Morning. Friday's I have my a residency/broadcast just starting up in town here to deal with, so I will be getting up about 9 AM Saturday and heading down there. I think it's about 6 and a half from Point...

Cheers,

RJT

Posted by jam.iii on Mar-16-2005 18:35:

right on rob, you gunna bring the 800's? i was gunna say cause i can bring the 700S's if need be, but i don't really have road cases for them. anyways thats quite a collection of speakers phreek, is that all gunna need to be moved to the venue...?

hmmm, this gonna be more of a chill setting? im hoping i can come there and play some massive tunes

Posted by tylerc on Mar-16-2005 18:45:

I think I'll probably try to hit the road at around noon on Saturday. It should be about 4.5 hours from Madison, so I'll probably get there around 5ish.

Someone should show me how to use a cdj, too.

Yeah man, I'm bringing mine. It's a little worrysome, but I will be absolutely worthless without them (I know, weak right, but they're what I'm used to). I do have some real nice Grundorf Flight Cases for them so they'll be easy to transport.

Just a heads up ahead of time too, please don't take any offense if I ask any of you other DJ's to move your drinks or something. If anyone saw how my first DJM got ruined, you'd understand why I'm a little paranoid. Don't hesitate to use them; that's what I'm bringing them for, just DO hesitate to place any kind of aqueous (SP?) solution near them, that's all I ask, but I guess that's probly understood !

In any event, it does look llike we'll have a helluva collection.

Cheers,

RJT
