Someone who is considered a "rebel without a cause" type, a la James Dean, is a "bad boy", am I right? Not necessarily an asshole, per say, he's relatively nice to people, but it's the IMAGE that is important.

So society still condones the asshole image but now it condones fakeness as well? I think a lot of nice guys try to pretend they are bad boys when they are just all around good people. And that is the heart of what this thread is all about.

James Dean in his movies btw was a criminal and gangster. He was no niceguy.

Well to my knowledge he was only in 3 movies, and he played a Teen struggling with authority in "Rebel without a cause" but I was just using him as an example, really.

I think you're missing my point, I'm trying to say it's not the "asshole" factor that girls are attracted to, it's the hint of danger, or the unexpected... and confidence!

My biggest problem too! I over think EVERYTHING too... it just happens naturally. in the game of the ladies tho, ive just learned to make myself not over think stuff and just do/say WHUTEVER is on my mind... i dont let myself over think stuff anymore, its but its still an active effort... my natural tendancy would be to over-analyse :S

i tell ya, over thinking never makes u happy (not me anyways). i much prefer myself when i just stop dwelling on stuff and go w/ the flow... its so much better... less mental-drama for urself (plus girls seem to be more receptive to this way of thinking as well)

yes, exactly.

girls aren't attracted to the guy that is going to be an asshole to every person he comes in contact with. they are going to be attracted to the guy at the party that has some wikkid stories to tell of his adventures and that is a thrill to hang out with.

of course, there are girls that end up with guys that are assholes but this is not that they are attracted to these guys, it is because their own confidence is low and they think they can't do any better. (unfortunately, there are a lot of these women and that is why it seems that these assholes get a lot of chicks, but is really has nothing to do with asshole being attractive).

Id just like someone to explain to me why the stupid games that woman actually demand from you in this society backfire when you go abroad?
