Hmm... I wouldn't mind if they played Chicane Feat. Marie Brennan - Saltwater (The Thrillseekers Ambient Mix)

Posted by DROSDAMAN on Mar-12-2005 17:21:

This is more of what's your favourite song all time. Not what would you want to play at your funeral. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to see people with glow sticks bouncing off each other to trance at any funeral.

But one of my favourite trance songs of all time would have to be

Angelic Touchdown - Marinero (NU NRG remix)

Posted by colonelcrisp on Mar-12-2005 18:42:

Sheesh thats a hard one.. if i were to go electronic, id still probably mix some old folk rock in there too,

harmonium - 100,000 raisons

and then two from the follwing....

G&M project - sunday afternoon (morph remix)
brainbug - rain (eddie baez boy o boy mix)
Atlantis Ita - See you in the next life

and in the funeral home elevator mauro picotto - Rosso o Nero

why not? i think funerals should be a celebration of life, and not focus on the negatives. if i wanted people miserable at my funeral id get the pastor to crank up a neil diamond's best hits album.... but i wouldnt do that

id want the service to be nice but refelct my life, and i have always loved to party and just hang out with friends, so thats what i would want the service to be. fun, then a reception afterwards with a killer dj, a couple kegs of beer, and knowing that all my friends and family would be partying one last time on my dime. i dont think it could get any better than that

Posted by DROSDAMAN on Mar-12-2005 18:51:

lol if it were my funeral, and I saw everyone partying, I'd really feel even lower than the six feet I'd be going down.

Everyone partying? I guess no one really gave a shit.

Whoever said everyone focuses on the negatives at a funeral? It's not "negative" to be sad because someone will be missed.

There's a time and place for everything.

i wouldnt subject my gran to anything to pumping. Probably:

Robert Miles - Children, my all time fav and quite ambient as well

Posted by searchdestroy_1 on Mar-12-2005 19:35:

see for me I couldnt choose 5 songs. I'd like to hear a 15 hour set with all my fav tracks.

jose amnesia - the eternal (sunrise mix)

i believe this was played at another ta's friend's service (some nyta if i remember correctly) which made me realize how suitable it would be. i've never been a dark person so i want people to walk out feeling at most melancholic but not depressed.

That song is so friggin beautiful, especially the sunrise mix. When you close your eyes, it gives you such amazing feeling, you start to smile. But somewhere in the track I always got a tuff moment, then I get the tears in my eyes.

I have no idea what this tune would do in combination with a dead relative or friend

not exactly trance but 'Dido - White Flag' sort of establishing it isn't a sad thing. at my mothers friends funeral they played 'Everything But the Girl - Missing' and I thought that was quite bittersweet.

Posted by mndeg on Mar-13-2005 02:08:

m (A&B) mix doesn't even ahve vocals
they are all chopped up

Moon Project - Moments Are Forever

Posted by kernkraft on Mar-13-2005 02:15:

rank 1 - such is life (DVD live mix, the most beautiful...)

there is a vocal mix as well as dub and semi dub

Posted by Spang on Mar-13-2005 03:53:

Mine would be most likely

Hooligan- Hear you now (Grand chillas mix)
Nalin & Kane- Open your eyes (reworked club mix)
Starkid- Crayons (Leama & Moor mix)

That would make a few people get a tear in their eyes i think (also very emotional songs to me aswell).
