i don't expect perfection but these mixes don't make the original ones better in any way so they're completely useless. no improvement has been made on any of those remixes. they might be "ok" because of the originals, but they are totally unnecessary and much worse than the original ones.

so i still see no point in those remakes.

astral projection - mahadeva [john 00 fleming mix]..another amazing update..
astral projection - mahadeva [supakane mix]..also good update..

these i agree with though. but they did bring something new to the table instead many other crap fluff run-of-the-mill-remakes. they made the original psy version more into a (hard)trance version. and i personally don't like psy that much, so IMO these were good, especially the supakane remix.
i'm not saying all remakes are crap, but 99% are and i don't really like the whole concept of remakes at all.

This truly shows the lack of creativity amongst the scene as of late. Producers are too afraid to push the boundaries that have been set over the past seven years. Look at all of the upcoming producers that have been aired on ASOT and played by many DJs lately and you'll notice that all of their tunes have the same format as before; intro, build-up, breakdown, and end, complete with the same kicks and synths that we've heard time and time again.

Record labels who own the rights to these songs see them as easy cash-ins, as people who are new to the scene generally don't know of the older originals, and thus will cream their pants as they spend money on less-than-mediocre remakes.

What happened to originality? What happened to producers telling labels, "No, I wont do a 2005 Remix. I want to try something new"? Why are people so afraid to do something that hasn't be done, to actually use their brain?

Maybe they just don't want to? Perhaps Trance has reached the point where it's popular enough to warrant "wanting to be famous" as an excuse for starting to produce. Maybe new producers just want to be noticed, and will only produce what sounds like ASOT in a vain attempt to be recognized.

I dunno. In any case, these need to stop, and they need to stop now. They're far beyond the point of pathetic.

None of the Mahadeva updates can even touch the original. Fleming is nice to listen though.

No matter what the thread maybe, you always end up going on your pathetic and hopeless crusade against Armin.
Whats next? Blame Armin for all the remakes?
I couldn't help thinking that the original motive behind your thread was to slander Armin, directly or indirectly.
Grow up.

It's all because artists rather cash in on their past glories. I think it is also because lots of artists have run out of ideas (cough Mike, L-Vee and others). The music scene is going to the dogs, if people don't save it.

Isn't there a Whiteroom - The White Room (2005 Remix)? I swear I saw that it was coming out on a compilation or something. Now that is sad.

Geez TA is starting to sound like a bunch of old ladys at a Bingo tournament....always bitchin about a track. The sad part is, you guys are the ones buying the vinyl and MP3's of the re-mixed tracks you say suck. Go to any Record store site and check out the sales charts.

I highly doubt the people who are complaining about the remakes are the ones buying them.
