American politicians sure do like to get us "regular joes" into big messes that we end up paying for. I think we deserve a good bashing from time to time, but make sure it's aimed at our POLITICIANS and not independents, like myself, who are just trying to pay our taxes so they can finance this goddamn fucking poorly run war or investigate steroids in baseball.

I am very nervous about the Christian right wing in my country because it seem to be all about control ie: TV, radio and the whole censorship insanity.
My country seems to be heading toward a policy of hardline Christian vs. hardline Muslim. With the amount of power that the "right" has now, we seem to be looking for the next country (possibly muslim, maybe Korea) to kick the living shit out of. Remember that absolute power corrupts absolutely we shouldn't be blinded by revenge for 9/11.

No wonder why you Canadians, and others, bash us...these people (politicians)just won't stop. I hope that I live long enough to see the full impact on world history that our little liberation has. War is still the biggest money maker.

As I'm getting older (think Moby) I find that there are people whose full time job is to figure out new ways to fuck me out of money, time and information. When you are working 16 hour days to pay your taxes, it's difficult to keep up on politics (local and Federal)and all that they are doing in our "best interest". You people in college need to keep tabs for us.

Hey Karim, do Canadians have to pay for all of their college? or just some of it?
Ummm, all of it, but tuition is dirt cheap here in comparison to the USA.
I pay about $4500 a year, canadian, for my schooling. A pretty good school too. All the top schools charge roughly the same.
The big tuition increases come when you're looking at med school or law school, and even then it's cheaper than the USA.
The government here also set up a program called OSAP. It's potentially good and potentially deadly. Depending on your financial situation, they'll grant you an interest free loan that's payable when you finish school, assuming you find a job. You can get as much as $10 grand a year through this, enough to pay tuition, books and a good chunk of your living expenses.
Also, alot of people who get OSAP often get grants from the government cutting a big chunk out of how much you owe.
There's no such thing as full scholarships (academic or athletic) here, but you can get a pretty decent chunk of tuition saved if you keep your grades up or can throw a football.

4,500 A YEAR!!!
I paid 14,500 PER SEMESTER AMERICAN!!when I went to Syracuse University, and that was back in 1990 I cringe to think of what it is now. It made me sick to see all of these idiot basketball punks getting a free ride and then a cool 20mil NBA contract, I grin each time one of these fuckfaces gets into legal trouble.

Student loans in the states suck, they come after you the second you graduate. Nothing like having a 450.00 per month bill with no job. You can differ them but the interest will kill you sloooowly.
Med school and certain law degrees if I'm not mistaken from Canada are recognized in the US.
Also every technical degree is in high demand down in the USA. Brain drain is big here where the government carry's people through med school/engineering/computer science, only to have them lost to the states.
Doctors don't make as much here. Not even close. Especially if you're a specialist.

Doctors need to make that much just to cover the malpractice insurance.
Litigation USA...If you can beat them, sue them.
Canadian doctors need malpractice insurance too. However the courts are not as easy here to get away with 10 million in pain and suffering.

Speaking of the Christain right:
I used to design and install sound systems for a living, some of the churches that I worked in had bigger systems than the clubs in town. I always wondered where was all this money coming from. Money and power, a bad combination with political aspirations, church dictating to state ie: "Faith Based Initiatives" Danger! Danger!
OH!!! and then when I would hand my bill to the church officials, they would look at me and say "...That's a lot of money...but this is for God, are you not a believer?" Theocracy in the USA...maybe not that far fetched.

Well I can't say the church groups are as big here as they are there. Farm communities have strong faith where they try to shelter their children from the church hating world, but they're very small communities in comparison. Catholic highschools are all over the place here, and ironically, they were the ones with the biggest sluts and most drugs.
Can't say the church hold nearly as much political sway though as they do in the USA, but Canada does have it's pockets where you can get lost in the religous world.

Take a look at the State of Utah, Mormons, Mormons everywhere and not an Agnostic in sight. A prime example of a theocracy at the state level...now imagine that type of influence on a countrywide scale.
