There is this girl that I met at Tiesto, fun to party with!! She always carries a glow stick with her!! I think it's kind of gay!! LOL.
However when I went to BOA last year on my birthday, I told her no glowsticks. You should have seen the dissapointment in her face!! However at the end of the night, I remember her saying to me that she didn't even miss them!!
I hate those things... Every time I go out some asswipe swingin' them around like nunchuks hits me in the fuckin' head. Worst part is I'm to passivE to hit the ****** back.... but I should.
If you want to make pretty lights around you when you dance do us all a favour and get some LEDs.... they're brighter, last longer and won't cause me to lose a contact when you accidentally hit me in the eye with them.

| Originally posted by Sly_Guy I think I have to. Turning point was during CREAM this past labour day, I let a chick borrow my LEDs to try and find a bottle of water in the speaker stacks and she walked off with them. Since then I can't be bothered with the hassles they provide. I go to dance, not to draw my own little crowd. But it just isn't the same without them....Everytime I'm grooving, I feel as tho my hands are lazy and they need to be doing something more than they are. |
Its a part of the jam. You feel like somethings missing without them

Exactly. Especially when you've been using them for a long time...You can try other things like liquid, but nothing will replace what you know best.
But for those people using just glowsticks, it was mentioned earlier in the thread but I'd recommend switching up to LEDs. Brighter, longer lasting, and much easier to control. Oh man, I was gonna go into all these tips I have for using them, but I started getting too nostalgic...
Hey does anyone remember some of the other cool toys from back in the day? I used to own a pair of those gloves which put LEDs on your fingertips...I used to love those things so much.

| i get that feeling too dude, its like the glowsticks complete you... totally feeling you on that one |
I can't beleive this race is so tight. I thought for sure the majority would hate.
You guys are all just a bunch of candy kid ravers still.

Karim
If by labelling me a candy kid it means the old days will come back when anything goes was the motto of the party, then by all means call me one.
I wouldn't mind breaking out my orange/navy blue gear along with my visor, beads and translucent nightvision sunglasses if it meant going to parties like they were back in the day.

It was sarcastic, I really have no hate for candy kids.
Infact, I'm desperately trying to find tickets to the last hulla party.
Anybody know a source?

We love them so much at Boa, they're banned
Oh I'm well aware of the policy at Boa, Jeff.
And it breaks this old little candy kid's heart.

I just get annoyed when they get put on strings in dense crowds where people get whacked - if you use strings, make sure you're in a more open area! I got a bruised boob once from one of them whacking me....owie! |
no excuse! I hope it wasnt too big of a bruise!
