Whatever, dude. FYI I was drunk during the dinner and high afterwards, but so WHAT? I did post being drunk a few times because I enjoyed myself while being drunk with everyone. And what? The thread stayed on topic, people posted pics and their thoughts of what happened, with the drama with the owners and all. It shouldn't be a big deal, so please don't make it one.

Was it me or did the dinner even come out? I dunno. Maybe cause I left a little early. Anyway, maybe next time things will go a little more smoothly. All in all, a great time was had!

heh and I was actually discouraged from attending. People were telling me there wasn't going to be enough room and I would have to find a lap to sit on.
Well, Damon hasn't commented on the dinner, probably because he is still pissed as hell at the people who said they were coming and didn't show. I was the one who talked the mananger into letting is go for the $800 we collected and on top of that out of the poeple who pitched in that money, most of them didn't even eat.
Next year, you will have to pay a deposit that will be given to the restaurant in advance and if you don't show, you lose your deposit. There is no other way to organize that kind of a group. We made a reservation (that was probably a mistake) for 160, we were obligated for $4000 whether we knew it or not. We went threw hell to get Matt's debit card back. Luckily the owner was sympathetic and understood the situation. On top of that I don't think it was clear on the boards to the TAs that Matt was making a commitment to the restaurant for that many people, so now we know and it will be handled better in the future.
$4,000?! Oh MAN!
That's just nuts!

the deposit was actually Jeff's idea through paypall. Should work great!
sucks that damon and brian worked so hard to organize this dinner at a good price and then have to deal with this crap the day of the dinner

i still say we rent out a hotel conference room or something like that, setup gear, have the best TA djs spin, and if people want food, the people who are actually there can pitch in for pizza or something.
i'll definately help organize something like that
just need to pick a day that doesn't clash with another big event like radio 1.
