Shit next year definetly i cannot miss Ultra, from you guys its like all my favorite djs did good, PVD,Tiesto, and Armin, damn i should have had experienced this myself.
Nu-Nrg was definately the highlight of my day, and a damn good way to get it started. Figured i'd see arturo up in front where i am normally at. So we mostly just hit up Nu-Nrg and i danced for a lil bit then went to the main stage. It was either Armin or Infusion/Ferry so i decided to get to the main stage and find some room for later and stake my claim. As an ultra veteran i know what u need to do to make the night nice and enjoyable. I was on the left side of the stage(if ur lookin at it) about 5 rows back right where i could see the dj and where i could hear the system.
I dont know if anyone else noticed but all the djs i heard on the mainstage. Chris Lawrence, Ferry, Oakie, and even PVD for part of a mix had troubles matching the beat when they first brought it in. It had to be something with the system or the echo that the mainstage generates. At least this year i didnt hear that nasty echo ive heard from different spots. I do like to hear new toons at ultra and i expect the big name djs to drop some insane stuff. But id rather hear a dj tear it up on the decks technically while playin some older stuff and like i said SOME new tracks.
This ultra was fun, like always! i had some friends there and primarily chilled with them instead of trying to meet up with others. I didnt really see any djs "tear up" the decks honestly. Nu-Nrg's live set and Infusion's live set were what i love about ultra. Live performances > dj sets anyday!! Even stopped Infusion while they were walking around unnoticed. I was like HEY and talked to them to them for a few mins. Even got props for wearing my TA.com hat!!
It was a good ultra, not as good as maybe 2 years ago, but good none the less. I didnt do shit but relax after ultra since i was tired from a long week.
Edit: Oh yea oakie played 3 records i have, tiesto played 3 and pvd played 1 w00t..
Promo Cd?
Did anyone happen to grab the promo cds some dj was handing out?
St Marc? live in chicago. I grabbved it thinking it was cd cheesy cds i could make fun of on the ride back, but i poped it in and it was off the walll. This cd was freaking awesome. If you like Trance, then youll love this one.
Anyone else listen to it? wouldnt mind hearing some feed back.
I was hoping to see Nu Nrg for the first time , but they were on way to early
. alot of people had recomended I se them live, o well maybe some other time....
NU NRG performance was very excellent. during the first track it was not very crowded but by the 3rd track it was supper! so happy to see the reactions he he he he
U2 REMIX was huge!
Nu NRG rocked. I am a huge Infusion fan, but it seemed like they never even got off the ground. Sander's set was incredible. I know he was trying to use the DVJ's but I don't think he ever got his video's to work. He played this "Domo Arigato Mr Roboto" remix that had the crowd going crazy. I even got the chance to check out Kenneth Thomas (aka Kenneth Thomas and Elevation) early in the day and he sounded really good. Junkie XL brought the house down. Tiesto played the same usual good tracks. But the set of the day for me was BT live. He went on at about 11:30 and they shut him off at midnight. But he brought so much energy, the place was going nuts. The only track that he played which I recognized was Deep Dish-Flashdance, which he totally remixed live with Ableton. His set was amazing. I'm totally glad I got the once in a lifetime chance to check out his set over PVD's.

My First and Last Ultra....
Hummmm...
I am glad that many of you had a great time at Ultra. This was My first time going to this event and also my last. I was not very impressed at all. Ya it is great that Many Big Dj's come together for one event like that but they only get an hour set.
I got to Ultra around 3ish and thank goodness for my wantticks badge. I got to go in with My Camra and take the artist way in. There was no hassles at all.
Once I there I went to check out Armin's set for a little bit. I did not see too much of it since I wanted to find my Primo spot right in the front.
Ferry's set- I liked it since it Reminded me of the set from the night before since well.. he selected some of the same Tracks from the night before. It also look like he did not go back to the Hotel room after Space
hehe.
Oakie- I tought his set was all right. It was almost the same set he did at the Wet Grooves pool party Day one. He also really needs to stop with those cheesy poses though.
Junkie Xl- OMG.... BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the longest hour of My LIFE!!!! I would do anything to get that hour back. ZZZZZZZ
Tiesto- Ok.. I am a HUGE HUGE Tiesto Fan!!! Maybe it was the crowd, maybe it was the fact I was dehydrated and running on 2 hours of sleep and no Dose, But I did not feel Tiesto's set at all. I was really disapointed in it. Yes I loved the Tracks he played but there was no flow from Track to Track imo. He mixed too early or too late or didn't seem like he mixed at all. I also heard a lot of Trainrecks.
Then when it came to the end Tiesto singed his head phones and tossed them out to the crowd. And for once they came my way.. But all of a Sudden there was a mass of people comming at me and I got pushed down hard to the Ground. I have a nice scab on my knee and fatty Bruses on my legs. I could have broken my ankle!
I am lucky no one Fell on me! After that I was done. I went back to the artist area and walked around a bit. Grabed a bite to eat and hung out in the back to see some of PVD's set. There was no way I was going out to the crazyness again!.
I left 20-30 min after PVD started to beat the Traffic out. But I was not the only one with that Idea. There was Traffic every where and finding a cab was a bitch. Thank goodness that I got a ride with my friends
Next year I am going to skip on Ultra and see the Dj's at the clubs
hi,
I was at WMC this year at it rocked !!! I saw tiestos and armin and I was like holy shit this is awesome!!! I was dancin all day long.
All the lasers and lights were awesome too. All teh people there was amazin. I was dancin so much during adagio for strings (tiestos mix) i almost died!!
I am new to trance but I must say that this music was awesome.
During Armins set on the second stage I passes out cuz I was rollin my balls off.I think he saw me. He was awesome too.
Only bad side was that I had to wait in line 1 hr to enter Space.
My biggest pet peeve about Ultra:
Why can't Ultra get their shit together when it comes to cameras?? They say no cameras at the door, then there's vendors selling them inside. Its not like the 'official Ultra vending booth' is selling them with exclusive rights either, its the other vendors. There's NO way they have exclusive rights. In the end, u see dozens of people with their cameras inside, even some video cams, and i'm not talking people w/press passes. Its like its the luck of the draw when u get to the gate as to whether u get a lax security person or not. There's NO reason why u shouldn't be able to bring your own camera inside.

No, I was nowhere near Miami this year, lol! It's just my biggest annoyance when going to Ultra. Also the 'no bags' rule. Another big disaster if u show up with one, and you have no where to put it.
this years ultra was awsomes!!!
tiestos droppes some wickes tracks. I was like wow!! It had all this energy and build ups. Like every track ahd those snare rolls builds
I almost died listening to Armin and Tiestos set !! Everyone was like popin something and I was rollin my ass off !!
I was like 'yahhh tiestos rockks' and than everyone was dancin.
It was crazy. I never saw like lasers and people dancin. INSANE!!!
I can't wait for Ultra '06
^Tistos?
tatgirl, yeah it sucked about the cameras. I was very lucky to have smuggled mine in. VERY lucky. I went to ULTRA with mister ben and had no car Saturday. NO WAY I was gonna give up my camera or just leave it. Had to find an intuitive way to get it in. It's funny, though. Once inside, no one seemed to give a crap about cameras, they were everywhere. Some people even had mini DV cams too.
Sweetcandygirl: Sorry to hear you didn't like Tisto's set. I'm assuming you liked his Space set better, like I did?

This is how the entrance goes....
A security Guard screaming : No Recording Devices, No Backpacks, No Digi Cams, No Drugs, No Weapons blah blah blah...
Once You get to the checkpoint it goes as followed...
Security Guard : Take everything off your pockets
Me: Ok, put it your hand, raise it up..
Security Guard: Starts Feeling on your pockets, Nothing .. Ok Go
ME: Ok thx ...
Allright, so thats the deal, easy to smuggle anything as big as a cell phone, which most Digi cams are.. you gotta be smart about it, every event prohibits you digi cams.. or cameras, but you just gotta be smart about it, Ive always been able to get them in. Ofcourse, if you have a big ass camera, you should b screwed!.
And sweetcandy girl, sucks you had a down time... perhaps you should have ventured more instead of staying in the Amp, even to those that sucked, you could have used that time to go and hear some of Carl Cox crazyness set or Steve Lawlers..
Awesome reviews and pics
Wish I was there, maybe next year

they didnt want to let me in with a cd. wtf... a CD ! heh.
