awesome!
My 2c.
First BeB ever, I wasnt going in with any particular expectations...I dont really like overhyped Tiesto, so I wasnt suprised nor dissapointed with his set. It was pretty much what I expected. However Preach and Marco G. All I can say is...damn!
Anyway from the start:
Got there at 9:45PM (I'll be damned if I pay 85$ and dont enjoy the whole 14h of it
)
No line ups, frisking was super fast, so was coat check. People filled up really fast, so me and my buddies stayed at the Trance room since House was being a little funky.
So we waited till Tiesto came out, by that time room was just overpacked. That bothered me quite a little, especially since there were many clubbers that showed up (for Tiesto I'd imagine), didnt even bother to wear something white (I mean how hard it is to put on a white tshirt instead of black or green?) and all they did (or at least what I saw) was try talking or just bothering hot chicks everywhere.
Anyhow, Ben.'s set was sort of okay, apart from the freaking screeching that just tore my ears off (2 days later it still ringing)
However! It did disperse the crowd! Lots and lots of annoying pushing types left, and around 8, right before Marco G came out with his killer set there was a lot of space in the room.
I liked the mood so much I was just going crazy in the middle of the dance floor (too bad most people were tired by then and weren't moving much, so I got a lot of funny looks in my direction..with all my legwork, etc...)
So from like 8/9 - 11AM I had a blast and it was worth every penny I payed for this BeB. I guess I had fun, so did my friends (eventough they had to tear me off the dance floor at 11), I danced, I didnt give a damn, and holy crap.. Girls looked stunning in those costumes..Made my heart skip a beat a few times!
So imho, it was great!
I got to BeB around 11pm, and managed to get through the line, coatcheck and security by 11:30pm. It seemed though that once we arrived, so did everyone else creating a huge lineup behind us. From there I headed into the trance room...
Preach, you are AMAZING. Your set was very very impressive, even though I only heard the last two hours. I also should have been expecting that from you. Kudos!!!
When Tiesto came on, I found that the trance room became way too crowded and sweaty, but I anticipated that much. I found that his set began slow, and stayed that way for a while. It was still exceptional though, and it just got better once he sped things up.
Ok, I am fully aware that many of you here hate Benassi, but I really enjoyed his set.
Sure some of the transitions were rough, and yes i do admit that he is part of the reason why my ears are still ringing, but overall it was a good performance. I found myself dancing like mad to the majority of his set (of course it goes without saying that the same applies for Tiesto).
Highlights of Benassi's set (for me) included: "Smack my bitch up" by Prodigy and "Vertigo" by U2.
Marco G. was next, and as he has demonstrated before many nights at Aria, he can still spin a very decent set. Before coming I had been looking forward to Deep Dish, but once the moment came, I passed most of my time in the trance room with Marco. I did enjoy what I heard from Deep Dish although I found some of their stuff too slow, and I was in need of something faster.
I avoided the house room for most of the night, considering that it was full of half naked sweaty men. I don't believe that guys should go in there without shirts. Wait for the right moment, if you feel like you are going to die, then you have permission remove your shirt.
Morales spun a lot of vocal house stuff, much like all of his other sets. The performance for "How Would U Love" was good, and it helped that the dancers on stage were the same dancers on the booklet/flyer.
Peter Rauhofer played a very boring set. Everytime I left Benassi for the house room it seemed as though he was playing the exact same song as the time before. He did use a lot of bass though, which helped, but still didnt make it anything too exciting.
Overall I found that this years BeB rocked, and much fun was had by everyone. A few negatives would be the overcrowded trance room, and VIP, and the serious lack of seating. Also, there may have been something wrong with the sound, because my ears are still blocked/ringing.
I also was wondering if anyone knows who the girl was that stood behind Tiesto the whole time he spun? I think she had curly hair, and she may have been wearing a blue (?) shirt. I cant really be sure at this point, my memory seems to be shot.

I saw one guy being carried away in handcuffs, followed by a guy who looked unconcious on a stretcher. I looked away b/c it started tripping me out, and my buddy said that he soon saw a girl being carried away as well.

OMG!!!!
Do you know if she is ok or not? Wow, that is really really scary and sad to think about.
I saw a girl in like a wheel-chair passed out with the medics pushing her. I was like whoa. This had to been around 3:30-4:00 am
sure am glad i wasn't on one of em stretchers... geez man and i thought i overdone it

enjoi!
I'm still trying to recover from the nite.. not sure how much of a review i can write right now.. but the main highs and lows were pointed out already..
Like everyone said, Preach was INCREDIBLE! Filterheadz - Yimanya and Sunshine
i wouldve never expected it.. was just PERFECT!!! AMAZING SET!
I stayed in the trance room all thru tiestos set and i was flying the whole time so everything he dropped sounded beautiful.. a bit too crowded but i hardly noticed half hour into his set
And then... it went all
from there.. i stuck around from the end of tiestos set till 11 and i only remember some glimpses and things here and there.. we were in too big of a group everyone was lost, went their own ways.. and me and this girl ended up just being lost for 5 hrs after tiesto.. just wandering around.. i heard "love will save us" and left the room.. i dont think i heard any more benny b after that.. then i remember wandering around in the house room and all of a sudden me and the girl ended up in a sea of fags.. i was fucked at that point.. just closed my eyes and told the girl get me the fuck out of here.. scariest point of the nite..
wutever.. then we ended up sitting on a platform listenin to deep dish and talking to some bongo drummer..
i met jesteraver in the bathroom (the bathroom system was horrible.. 4 flights of stairs and a monster line up to take a piss or fill a bottle) and marcus in the crowd.. pleasure meeting both of u..
all in all it was a great nite.. great music, beautiful HOT crowd.. would of only been better if the original pack could of stayed together instead of splitting off after tiesto... it was pretty sketchy after that..
That's it for now, i'm still fighting post-rave depression syndrome.
OH!... the next day.. went back to mishos place to crash.. slept from 12 to 6 and i woke up to find some bal en blancers in his living room.. misho on the decks... from 6 to 12 misho was mixing and everyone was up and dancing still.. that was quite a nice site... great great set to end the weekend bro!!

overheating not drugs
maybe there was so many people overheating because of the warm stituation on the dance floor. Not the drugs. Sure the two combined don't help but if your expirementing in drugs u should now your limits and the limits of the drug. That is your responsibility. I've been eating food for many years(almost ten) and researching the facts on these drugs and the evidence piont to the fact that most people don't overdose on drugs they overheat or overhydrate. Don't want to preach but I saw some people scared about what happened to people.
If you you dance safe(dancesafe.org) nothing will likely happen to you. Know your limits.
