About IDM, just tell me where does Armin/ASOT fit in there will ya ?
It's got totally nothing to do with the style of music he's playing.

You might aswell go start saying I don't know nothing about Mozart too, because it's true, I don't know anything about him and similar, and more important I don't care about it either.
I like trance, if you got a question about that, I'll answer you, but calling me ignorant for not listening to something you do and has nothing to do with topic btw. is your wrong not mine.

im sure i had some influence on you to post what you posted, at this time, and in this specific thread. if thats true, despite your post script, it has nothing to do with what i said. i wasnt trying to be "arsey" because i was some how offended by him not know anything about IDM or what it even is for that matter, my point was pretty clear (although VERY rought around the edges ) that it frustrates me that he thinks he is so sure of himself, but evidently knows shit all to be talking the way he is.

im sure i am, like most times, talking out of my ass on this one. and i understand that the post i made above was pretty seriously unneeded and immature. fresh prince, i apologize for what its worth. kr00ton, you get a thanks for (even unintentionally) making me aware of how fucking dumb a post i had. i dont have any reason to be angry either. carry on folks

Honestly tho, it wasn't aimed at anyone, I just remember stuff like when ATRC first came out, and alot of people loved it, then after a few months of overplay, everyone started saying it was shit

I admit it's not the greatest track out, but its no where near shit (aka DJ Sammy - Heaven, Hampenberg - Ducktoy, etc)

I'd be pretty miffed if someone started saying an AMAZING track was shit just coz it became accessable to the public and got overplayed, popularity does not equate to the quality of a track.

Christ, I didn't think this would turn into a spree of elitism.

No-one cares how long you've been listening to EDM or how underground your musical taste is.

Also, I wish people would stop saying stuff like "if you don't like, don't listen to it" and "maybe it's your musical taste that's changing".

1. The show has DEFINITELY changed.

2. I don't "dislike" the show, hell I have every fucking episode. I was voicing concern rather than contempt for it, and yeah if things don't get better then maybe I will go elsewhere and do this "easy" task of finding another better DJ.

I just think people should be more honest about stuff. If Armin plays a crap show, don't say you love it. Maybe he'll take note and make things better, because he CAN do better and has done in the past.

On the other hand, maybe ASOT 190 was just crap. I listened to some episodes from a few months ago and they were alright.

I don't mind armin fans so much. But their main problem is that they only listen to Armin and only know the kind of stuff Armin plays. They clearly need to widen their musical horizon.
There is loads of amazing trance released which Armin never plays on his show. Its the same with commercial radiostations. The best music is never aired.
There is a life outside and beyond Armin.

i agree. he was good in the first half of 2004.. i saw him a couple of times back then, and there was plenty of energy to be found in his sets. from the second half of 2004 uptil now his sets have watered down a lot.. and it's not just in his radio show, even live he's playing lots of fluff.
