Are you all here like conservative religious people or what?

This might be something that could be discussed but I don't think right now is the time. Should be taken under consideration the fact that there are people who respected him. If you don't respect what he did or did not do, do at least have respect for the people that do.

there usually not. But becuase he is well known and has just died, alot of people will criticse you for knocking him which is unfair.

Majority of people on here who said "RIP" really dont give a shite, and were probaly very anti-pope and catholic church.

Hopefully this will give the catholic church the chance to appoint someone alot less conservative, but i doubt it.

Not of that religion, but if it means anything, may the faith that lived within him still live on...

And the AIDS situtation in Africa. Telling them contraception is wrong? truly a great man.

You have to understand that it is very hard for one person to change the Catholic church. The next Pope will likely be far more conservative. And he was a great man indeed.

ps.. anyone who grew up in the 1930s is going to be conservative to some extent.

Being against homosexuality makes him a bad person now?

Anywho, R.I.P

Ok, so I'm not Catholic, I'm Christian but I do sense the world's loss for the leader of the Catholic Church. Whether you believe in religion is another matter but you have to give the man some credit. The man tried to bring people together, heck he even forgave the guy who tried to kill him. I'm not a big fan of the Catholic Church but the man tried to do a lot of good and he did well in that respect.

We all knew this day was coming - but it still saddens many believers and non-believers. RIP JPII

He was quite old so it was expected. It's sad, but not too sad. He accomplished alot during his time. R.I.P

Posted by muckluck on Apr-03-2005 11:18:

Well that's one step closer toward news of his rotting corpse displayed like a pinata leaving, and regular news coming back: Martha Stewart, Miachel Jackson, Steroids and Baseball, Schiavo aftermath, YAY!.

But at least he was real.

Unlike God.

Who is not real.

Rest In Heaven.

To think that I would disrespect a person like pope John Paul II and his followers by meaning something else is absurd. I would never be so obvious in exposing two opposite sides in a thread. I have respect for people, specially in times like this one. Perhaps you should show some by reducing your use of foul language. It doesn't help you get a point across and plus it exhibits how a sentiment without bases keeps you from thinking logically. Example: inabality to put an abbreviation into context.
