the person to be canonized has to have performed 3 miracles during their lifetime to acheive sainthood.

unfortunately JP2 didnt.

Mother Theresa didnt either adn thats why there was a scandal when she was canonized.

I agree with you about the whole media frenzy. Honestly, I'm tired of the media coverage over the past month. But don't let that overshadow what this man has done. He led a good life and did many great things to bring people together. He worked tirelessly to bring peace to millions and for that he deserves our respect.

Maxtuh, JP2 is not unlike Gandhi. They both worked hard for peace and freedom. Would you have posted similar comments if Gandhi just died?

It's ok, he would have forgiven him for saying those things anyways.

i don't get it .. if u don't care about the man, why post in this thread or offend other people's mourning of his loss .. ?

really messed up how a thread with such a sensitive subject manner to some would turn into this .. anyways, i'm not gonna lose sleep over it since certain people will always act a certain way without regard of how others feel .. it's just unfortunate but what can i do ..

whether or not he's the Pope, someone has died , the least some could do is say nothing if it's not helping the situation.

enjoy the death of the pope? you've got some bad karma coming to you for saying all this.

Posted by Jer on Apr-03-2005 01:50:

Much like Floorwhore, I'm not supremely religious and this doesn't have much bearing on my life.

It is a shame that someone would exploit someone else's death just to get a rise out of others.

Wether you like the man or not, agree with the man or not.. It's just ignorant. I can't sum it up any better.

'Nuff Said.

Tell me about it. It's indicative of leading a sad life when you can't contribute anything meaninful to a thread about a mans passing but instead pepper it with hateful, inflammatory remarks.

Buddy, you seriously need to check yourself. That flippant attitude's gonna come back to bite you in the ass, and you'll only have yourself to blame for it.

kytracid, ok i will leave you guys to mourn , although just to let you know that is just my thought.

It looks like you people take it offensively when someone does speak about JP2, that i dont care.

Tordan your right as well, i still wouldnt care for gandhi.

ok i will stop posting, thank you and gnite.

darkwater, i know you care a lot, just dont take every word i put online is real.

P.s since most of you want to be respectful, i will say R.I.P Jp2 , so if that makes you happy, so be it.

He's a little twerp who a few months back thought that TOTA would care that he bought a crappy car. That to him was reason enough to start a thread. That in itself should tell you how self absorbed and superfical he is.

I've seen some trolls around these parts but never someone so callous in his intent to offend people. I mean have some fucking self respect ! Open your eyes just a little bit from your drunken stupor and you'll realize that some things are just inappropriate.

Don't like the man, fine. Don't post.
Don't like people who like the man, fine. Don't post.

This guys made a mission in this thread to offend as many people as possible and still manages to pull a stupid grin as he walks away. It's cowadly, because i'm willing to bet money that he doesn't have the balls to say any of those things in front of people. You're a petty, childish person Maxtuh. Thanks for revealing yourself to the rest of us.

The MODS need to clean this thread up a bit by deleting everything maxtuh has said, and all the responses people have given to his petulant remarks. This thread should be about the passing of a man that millions of people looked up to -- not a bored little boy.

Posted by TrueToTheCrew on Apr-03-2005 02:02:

He was a great man and a great leader who did things most popes would never do like, bring harmony between all religions, play pivitol role in the fall of communism and political issues and Acknowledging and asking for forgiveness for the lack of a role the church took in the holocost, etc, etc, etc.

As for the people who choose to disrespect rather than celebrate such a tremendous person's life, just like JPII would do, you should be forgiven for your ignorance.

why, what good will that do? Aren't you the person who said JP2 would forgive his actions. You should follow his example.

*edit*, there ya go ky i deleted all of them, now maybe you can mourn

Posted by drgoodvibe on Apr-03-2005 02:18:

i'm kind of embaressed (big boys don't cry!) but I did shed a little tear -- I was watching the news when they first announced his death. R.I.P.

I just read the entirety of this thread, and whoa i'm a bit shocked -- i'm entirely not religious let alone Catholic, but JPII was a great man.

I just wanted to know what a person who says those things looked like.

Ugly on the inside. That's all that really matters.

Posted by 7-4-7 on Apr-03-2005 02:26:

...something about his passing just made me stop...completely. I was frozen. Anger, fear, frustration, love, happiness...millions of thoughts ran through me.

He was my only pope.

And now he is gone.

He has touched my life, my families life, and the life of millions like myself - he will never be forgotten.

Leave this posting only to those who have considered ourselves fortunate to have lived in the time of Pope John Paul and erase the words of the vermin who wish to disgrace him.

I can't imagine why on earth any one would want to poison our last chance to remember him.
