sorry...came late to this party but wanted to comment.

YOJI is the shiet!! I was lucky enough to see him the only time he was in the US (to my knowledge). He was in LA at the Orion on 7/27/2002 for the Music Is Life tour. I had no idea who the hell he was, but man he had the place going nuts! When he was done, the entire crowd was chanting his name YOJI! YOJI! YOJI! It was crazy. I had to get some of his CD's after that night. Not recommended for daily listening, but sometimes its whatcha need.

I always fuckin listen to this guy for a few years I notice him ever since I heard Busy Child mention his name and then I start looking him up in 2003.

I think this guy is spectular and he really throwns down a awesome performence and he into some mode that matches his music.

Hmmm I notice this guy might be a lil too hard for southerns

Never too hard for me. Compared to hardcore DJ's, he sounds downtempo.

not my cup of tea funny how no one mentioned this guy before he had an essential mix and then all of sudden, "oh i loved this guy for years" , blah, blah, whatever

i thought the mix was ok at best. i didn't think it was anything special, even though the EM had its moments. It's not really what I like to listen to while i'm working but i'm willing to see him live

I know-of and loved Yoji for years, have his vinyls, but haven't talked about him here because his genre wasn't always the popular one. For a long time, the marcus schulz type of sound was dominating here. But it's not only because of an essential mix that he has grown in popularity, but he has been getting a lot of play time in the past 2 years outside of Japan, in harder ID-T events and radio stations across the netherlands. He definiftly stands out of the crowd for his talent and style, and produces high quality full on melodic tracks. Hopefully he will make his way to the states, and if anything, his spin on trance, hard but not So hard, very melodic, energetic and fun, may be the next big thing for EDM in a large following perspective even though he has been around for a long time.

yeah, i dont ever listen to radio1 or essential mixes.

whether it is an achievement to have an essential mix or not, i dont think you can say something like he's only famous because of that. thats nutz man.

for any mainstream trance freak, the theme from banginglobe was enough to make anyone explore his talent. (summer of 2002)

gotta love yoji. i can dig his vibe even tho ima prog whore.

i love his look, like hes strait outta mad max or dragon ball z

I'm not a big fan of hard trance and Yoji's probably the few hard trance that I really like.
