You're not serious are you? Listen to Detroit Techno and you will hear both melody and soul, not to mention a great funky beat of some sort.

Listen to Tony Brown - Da Gama's Voyage (which is fairly new btw) and tell me there's no melodic feel to that.

For some very odd reason, I get the feeling that you don't know what real techno is.

As far as current releases are concerned, I'll take techno.

The key word you're looking for here is "too much", not "all".

I prefer a lot of genres above trance nowadays, and techno is one of them. Other genres I prefer to trance include acid, electro, psy, prog house, IDM and ambient. Trance ran out of steam a long time ago.

Posted by sandstorm03 on May-16-2005 13:57:

I cant stand detroit techno. ******s play it up here @ satellite records 24-7 the only thing that is worse is when some d n b fool is there. d n b = SOOOO BAD!!! i can't stand it.

I like Electro/Acid techno. Picotto ish tipe stuff. Sometimes downbeat/ambient more progressive type sounding stuff is good as well.

anyway whats the latest bandwagon? Steve Angello & Ingrosso?

Well one thing......Scooter is defenitely NO techno. It's 'happy hardcore' It has nothing to do with techno. But we know that millions of people don't even know what techno is. Like a lot of people from America.

I've learnt over time to respect people's opinions in music and that tastes differ. But people like you just plain annoy me. Fair enough you don't like techno, but by making such farcical comparison like, 'all techno sounding like scooter', your opinions on any music become null and void to me. I really doubt you know who juan atkins is, you probably consider lady dana as the founding father of techno. Your nothing but a clueless rebrobate who should be banned from musical forums everywhere.

I get the impression that he never heared techno in his entire life.

I personally don't like the term real techno but,

Model 500 - robots

Dark comedy aka kenny larkin - war of the worlds

Dan bell - losing control

Jeff mills - the bells

Adam beyr - tasty bits

adam beyer - tasty bits

Richie hawtin - minus orange

Have a listen to some of these samples then tell me techno is similar to the tripe that scooter releases for his 12 year old fan base.

Well, that's the bad kind of techno.

Its more melodic side is totally great.

Rhythim Is Rhythim - It Is What It Is (Majestic Mix by Juan Atkins)

Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Hi-Tech Jazz (The Science)

It tends to get a bit boring though. At least to me it did, and several people I know of share that opinion.

But each to his / her own on that.
