Eh I thought of one ...

It's no mako, but then again I wouldn't venture so close to one to take a picture

You got me there, Mr. Rider! I've only been diving twice, and never pursued a certification. It really is an awesome experience, though, and I am eager to go again.
It does have one disadvantage, however - you can't stretch out in the sun while drinking a cold one when doing it.

True ... but diving is only an hour max per dive. Plenty of time to sit on the boat ride back or beach while drinking a cold one ... so long as you don't drink so much that you get decompression sickness

Why do I get the feeling that you may actually be speaking from experience on this?

Those are bragging rights I don't intend to acheive. As tempting as it is to get unbelievably blizted in a tropical paradise before a dive, I don't particularly want to spend any time in a hyperbaric chamber

Yeah, well - it's good to be smart and responsible!
But I was hoping to hear some war stories about how you fought off a barracuda with your bare hands while blitzed on Margarita's and Tequilla Sunrise's. Oh well, one can still dream.

I hugged a sting ray and a nurse shark ... and I stuck my fin out at an eel trying to goad him into biting it. A sane person can argue that I was blitzed

Here is the little bugger too:

Well maybe "little" isn't the appropriate adjective. He was 4-5ft long. Unfortunately he wasn't feeling very aggressive

Where were the pics taken?
Now I'm in the mood for Sushi, damn it. Unagi is one of my favorites! Although I've never had saltwater eel before (Anago), I'll try it one of these days - but I'm not going to wait for you to catch it.
Enough of my rambling - I need to get to bed.
Peace

haha - I feel ur pain - Cozumel last March. The friends of some locals I met hauled a bunch of equipment to the eastern shore, and threw a rave on the beach until the sun came up - I took full advantage of the all night open bar... I hitched a ride back just in time to catch the dive boat out to Palancar reef... I'll leave the rest up to your imagination

Not counting the bends you experienced after your dive, it sounds like your trip to Cozumel was a great time!
I guess we all have to live and learn sometimes.

Beautiful!
And when you go, don't forget to bring your camera!
Pics are about all I'm going to be seeing of the sea until August - unless I make a day or weekend trip to Ocean City, which is far from what anyone could call a tropical paradise. I knew damn well what I was getting myself into when I signed up for these computer courses (8 hrs a day for 6 months
), but I figured I may as well go ahead and do it while I still had the motivation.
Anyway, HAVE FUN!!!

Lucky Bastid - I can't wait to go back... If you get the chance, rent a scooter / jeep / some mode of transportation, and go snorkeling on the eastern shore. It is a pristine environment. Heads up on the waves and current tho - u just gotta be careful, because there is nobody to rescue you out there
~have fun

Here you go, Bri. You could definitely catch some fish with this one:

LOL
or you could settle for a sick charter boat
