Yah tell me about it! It's hard when the both of you have been involved in the same community for awhile. I was involved in TA for a long time, where I eventually met my ex, who ended up fathering my child. I had to give it up (Tranceaddict). As most of you know I dont really come out to events, and I no longer post that much on this site - there's a reason for that! I'd love to come out all the time to events, listen to great music, and spend time with old friends who made imprints on my heart, but I can't because not only am I a mom now with hardly any time to myself, but because my ex still attends these events. It's unfortunate, I feel like people take sides which is BS, and I rather just avoid it. But either way it's hard when you are trying to get over somebody, and you still see them because they are interested in the same things. You'd either have to give it up (which is stupid), or get over him which is easier said then done.
I don't exactly know what to suggest. Time heals everything.

OH MAN!! do I feel your pain! Between kids and work I too have a very finite amount of "me" time (usually between the hours of 1:00am-3:00am)

Ya know, this has worked for me...
I have a group of friends whom we all put our kids together at one house, get a "babysitting team" together, split the cost, and have rockin' trance parties at each other's houses, complete with downloaded DJ live sets, lights and lasers. All the fun of a club, none of the jerks.
This may work for you

Your ex is being mighty selfish IMO, you are OK in my book

Sorry to thread-jack but I couldn't help noticing this - I'm curious, I've met both of you but never been inclined to "take sides", nor was I even aware that there were sides to be taken. What exactly gives you this impression?

As for as I'm concerned you're both great people, and maybe I'm not privvy to all the gossip that gets flung around, but I've never heard anything from friends that would indicate they feel any differently.

This weekend marked an end of a relationship I have been in for quite a long time with someone I care about deeply.. but yet we've decided that there is no future.

At this point, I can't remember the last time I was this miserable.. maybe you can offer some tips for getting over this rough time..

fill my mind with music....break-ups suck azz....and they suck ass even more when you truly like the person....nice timing on this thread...

If you guys really felt that there was no future in it, then the most you can hope for is that you'll both be happy in your separate futures.

My only advice to you is to not dwell on the break up and have some fun being on your own again. You'll discover soon enough whether or not you can really be happier apart from him.

My long time g/f and I broke up for a while, ran into each other, and we realized during that time that we actually did want a lot of the same things and the differences really ended up being minor and we've been stronger and closer ever since, 2 years running.

Maybe this is just a change you need to get a new perspective on things, and you'll get a better insight as to whether or not this person truly was right for you. Go out, meet some people, keep yourself busy and try to have some fun.

Don't waste too much time on tears, your smiles will reflect your future.

Ummmmmm.....yeah! ok! Before u start accusing someone of being "SELFISH" I suggest u know u're facts, or at least know what u're talking about. As for Sarah, she knows better than to post something like this on here. I'll leave at that.

P.S. I'm the EX!

It could possibly work, but I'm sortof uninterested after years of not partying. You become accustomed to a "new" and "different" kind of life. Also, Im sortof over portective of my daughter, I wouldn't want strangers to babysit her. :P

No sides should be taken, it's stupid. I never meant for that comment to stir stuff up, it's really no big deal. Besides I wasn't talking about everybody, just certain individuals.

I know better? WhateveR. There was nothing wrong with what I posted...I was explaining my situation to the girl who started this thread since I have been in her shoes.
