I got a miniscule amount of attention and was abused, but that was just the way things were done when my parents grew up, so they took it with them to the US, had me and raised me like that too.

1) Do you display affection towards your mom in public.- I sometimes hold her hand or put my arm around her shoulders

2) How often do you talk to your mom?- once or twice a week on the phone. She lives in PR.

3) Are you the protective type? If she's single and dating, do you make sure her significant other passes the test?- I wouldn't know. My parents are still together.

4) At what age did you stop sleeping in your parents bed?- Never did. My dad didn't raise any pansies!

5) What did you get your mom for Mother's Day? - Nothing. I'm poor and couldn't afford sending anything to PR I did call her the moment i woke up


6) Is she your deciding factor in making certain decisions?- I usually run my big life decisions by my parents. Not because I'll follow whatever they say, but because they have lived longer and thus far have proven to be very intelligent people lol. So I weigh things out, but their advice does play a role in my life.

sounds like ur to attached to ur mother if you are going to be calling her more than once a week. Why don't you just move in her with her or invite her to live with you? Since you are so attached to your mami

C'mon guys, it's your mum! She endured crazy labor that you won't ever have to for ya. Least you can do is give her a lil hug.

There's nothing wrong with showing her you've appreciated all the work she's done over the years to help you grow up, money, puttin up with your filthy rooms, smokin pot, comin home trashed...

At least...that's what mine had to put up with while I lived at home?

My mom likes her privacy, I guess. If she's dating someone, she doesn't blab on about it, so I really wouldn't know. I trust her decisions though, and respect her thinking and choosing for herself.

I was an only child for a long time. My father remarried and I got a half-sister when I was 7, but I lived with my mom for a long while growing up, so it's pretty much like I'm an only-child. My mom never cleaned my room...or cooked much...or cleaned the house often. She was/is always very busy with her career, so I don't think being an only-child has much to do with it - just the way a child is raised by the parent(s).

Of course my mother is a deciding factor. Is she the only factor? No way. But if she feels strongly some way or another I will definitely consider what she has to choose/say.

hahah i was scared of the dark when we went to visit my sister and her new baby, because she lives in a 100 year old house w/ a graveyard behind it and i was scared so i slept with my mom that weekend. everyone made fun of me.

i did the same thing when i went to my mom's best friend's house. her house is like 150 yrs old and this kid that supposedly "sees dead people" (think 6th sense) said there were ghosts in her house...
