I�ve heard people say that you only look out the window when its scenic, like its some really deep thing about the human psyche. But if you looked out the window at everything that wasn�t scenic, you�d get in a lot of accidents.

I had a differencial Equations professor that would go through class without touching on Diff Eq at all. He would simply start talking, realise he was going through his vast quantity of useless knowledge, say "As we digress..." and then digress upon his digression.

My English 115 prof was like that (the digressions were very intelligent, though, and you could be a smart-ass too - seventh heaven for me ). As was my Linguistics 401 prof. Both are exceptional professors, though. Granted they did touch their subject matter... the Ling 401 prof got so carried away with historical ling within the Salish family that he ran the clock out of time to teach us Lushootseed on many occasions

The best are the ones that are like 70 years old, and still smart asses and making fun of their students when they come in hungover, drunk, stoned, or any combination.

That English 115 section had a 3:1 girl-to-guy ratio. The five guys in the class were all easy to ID - there was the one who didn't know what he was talking about half the time, the quiet one, the Dune nut, the party guy, and me, the smart-ass. I met my best friend in that class... and had a massive crush on her it took me a couple of years to shake The women in that class were pretty good-looking, although a couple of them were pretty annoying and one was a real bitch. Most of my attention was on the future best friend anyhow... she's amazingly beautiful.

Suffice to say, I enjoyed every class of that course. Markham was bloody hilarious. I handed an assignment in that class single-spaced when we were supposed to double-space it. He hands it back to me and says, "good job, but DOUBLE...BLOODY...SPACE!"

I also find myself wondering which is more important when spinning records: Developing your own sound or just playing chedda and sucking (Technically)... My inclination is to the former, but plenty of folks who subscribe to the latter seem to get booked... regularly...
