jeez, people can't win. Don't listen and they say "you're closed minded", do listen and they say "wtf, why would you listen if you don;t like it?"

Not aimed at MissyM in particular

Milli Vanilli : All or Nothing (Remix Album)

1 Blame It on the Rain (7:15)
2 More Than You'll Ever Know (3:57)
3 Take It as It Come (3:48)
4 It's Your Thing (3:54)
5 Dreams to Remember (3:45)
6 All or Nothing (4:31)
7 Baby Don't Forget My Number (4:54)
8 I'm Gonna Miss You (5:07)
9 Girl You Know It's True (7:35)

Legends of 80's pop, for all the wrong reasons, one cannot deny the absolutely tasty cheese and popcorn factor. Admit it girls, you thought that the fabio-esque front of Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatu were mush material. As it turned out they had the looks but not the voices. Nor did they know how to lyp sync properly. Shame.

With mega hits like "Blame It on the Rain", "All or Nothing", "Baby Don't Forget My Number" and the super ballad "I'm Gonna Miss You" this is the bomb!

5. On Top Of You
6. Tired Of Being Sorry
7. Miss You
8. Wish I Was Your Lover
9. Little Girl

13. Dimelo - (Spanish Version Of Do You Know)
14. Alguien Soy Yo - (Spanish Version Of Somebody's Me)
15. Amigo Vulnerable

quote:
Throughout the early 2000s Enrique Iglesias steadily gained a firm foothold as the biggest-selling Latin pop star on the market. That his father is an international superstar didn't hurt matters, of course, nor did his smoldering good looks, but Iglesias's albums also showed an increasing command of the pop medium with their blend of romantic balladry, radio-ready pop, and adult contemporary fare. INSOMNIAC (2007) pushes the singer's profile even further into the commercial stratosphere with its slick, glossy sound and the newfound presence of urban contemporary grooves designed for the club.

Everything about INSOMNIAC is designed for crossover appeal. The album is almost entirely in English, and the inclusion of club-oriented tracks--such as "Push," which features a cameo by rapper Lil Wayne, and "Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song)"--are a clear appeal to young, hip audiences. Yet Iglesias still plays the sexy crooner without missing a beat ("On Top of You"), and also sings a couple songs in Spanish to keep his Latin listeners in the loop ("Alguien Soy Yo"). In short, Iglesias covers all the bases on this sharp, stylish release, adding even more fuel to his reign as the king of contemporary Latin pop.

The 'hero' is back with a nice blend of ballads and cross-over tracks. He's still got the appeal. Who remembers the Escape film clip with Anna Kournikova? WIN.

Anyways...

Lots of guitar, not so much drums. Lots of good vocalists. Yer, it sits well with me. EDM lovers may hate it though. Can't post more until Ive listened a few more times.

Serena Ryder - If Your Memory Serves You

blues/folk/contemporary

About time I picked this one up, been meaning to for about 8 months now and only got around to it today.

I love this chick, she's got one incredible voice. Just the type of sound I like, lots of soul and substance behind it, seriously powerful, just a perfect voice.

This album is mostly covers of past Canadian artists which have influenced her but it also has a selection of her own material.

I was a little unsure of buying it actually because of it being so many covers, would have preferred more of her stuff which I really like. Its also got a glaring omission in no Neil Young songs, especially Heart of Gold which is a track she seems to play a fair bit.

Theres some tracks i don't like, Good Morning Starshine being one. Some people may like it, it is different from the original but I really dislike the original and theres nothing that can make it good to me.

The really good bits:
Sisters of Mercy
My Heart Cries for You
It Doesn't Matter Anymore
Morning Dew
Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream
Weak in the Knees (her track)
Out of the Blue (her track)
Just Another Day (her track)

those last 3 are fantastic songs, so is Sisters of Mercy.

I'm giving it 8/10.
Her voice really carries some not so flash songs but when its good its really really fucking good. I love this chick, you should too. She's a bit of a cutie too (in a take her home to meet your mum kinda way).
