choice A - leave with your stuff

choice B - Stay and loose your stuff

I always picked choice A

I personally love Spirit the way it is....my favorite club in NYC right now. I'd really hate to see it turn into another Crobar.

btw is any of this confirmed or still rumor at this point?

spirit charged me $30 for 2 greygoose and sprites.
crobar charged me $24 for 2 greygoose and sprites.
webster hall charged me $18 for 2 greygoose and sprites.

18+ clubs means they need to rape the bar to make off the amount of 21+ people that are in the place versus the 18+ that are in the place.

well MADE brings djs/producers that everyone wants to see. come to think of it, I really do credit them for bringing rare appearances like Holden and Nic Fanciulli since I have never seen their shows till they came to Spirit. hmm actually i would *hate* to lose that -- its nice to see a venue besides places like the sullivan room and canal room bring forth great talent at a decent price. and lately ive thought the sound has been incredible. i more often have to wear earplugs at avalon and crobar, as well as encounter more rude ppl at those venues, even at 21+ events.

well if space mgmt put more money into making the club more spacious and bringing in djs ppl want to see, then ill be fine with it. if they end up putting even more vip sections it then ill hate it (aka crobar). spirit started off with madd vip sections too but as of late theyve let everyone go up to the 2nd floor which provides an alternative to the crowded floor, and ppl were even sitting on the bleachers at Armin.

i guess we'll bring up this discussion again if and when Space does take over Spirit.

im not use to facing that way at spirit. its gotta be on the other side or in the corner

Posted by trancintaiwan on Jun-29-2005 15:31:

only thing i hate about spirit is the "NO LIGHTs/GLOWSTICK POLICY". its hilarious how the bouncers patrol the asian areas looking for us ravers...

Must not be enforced because every time I am there there are people using them obviously on the dance floor.

Posted by trancintaiwan on Jun-29-2005 16:18:

only enforced on asians.. lol..

the bouncers hang around my group almost the whole night. pretty wack.

is a grey goose and sprite the same price as a grey goose and redbull? Because theirs are always $11. I've never heard of a a $15 drink at a club.

Grey Goose and Redbull was $15 at Crobar for Sasha and Sandra Collins. Only reason I got it was because they didn't have Stoli at the side bar to the left of the stage, by the stairs. Even the price of those have gone up from $12 to $13 lately. I think PvD was the first night I noticed that almost everything there went up $1, including the now $6 waters.

i got beat up by space security. after being caught doing what i'm not supposed to...and i knew i was wrong and excepted the fact i was getting thrown out. i came back from the yoshitoshi party with broozes on my back and a handprint on my neck. a simple "you have to leave" like we get in nyc would have been fine. it's not like i resisted and tried to argue. plus how they weren't honoring the stipulations of the space passes. it's just poorly run club. i don't even care about the talent they book. i'd rather go hear timmy regisford at shelter in nyc where security greets with a "hello" at the door and leaves you with a "get home safe" as you exit. space doesn't even book any dj's i really want to see that i don't get to see already. i wouldn't be a hater if i don't have a reason.

mike bindra has been running nyc's parties for years. from twilo, to arc, and now spirit. every dj i want to hear live is booked by bindra or plays at crobar from time to time. in addition, i have never seen staff better than his.

this all doesn't even matter since this is a rumor and not a fact as the moron that started this thread states it to be. as quoted from the made events board by the mod in response to this thread being carried over by this sandstorm character, "posting rumours as facts becasue you don't have the facts or the conenctions to get them isn't otay."

sux i never got to see Twilo, but Spirit being my fav nyc club, sux to see it go

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Jun-29-2005 20:50:

i wonder how people would react to twilo now a days. lols they'd prolly be bitching at stupid shit like the bouncers or even worse, the wooden floor that always felt like it was going to cave in. lols and somehow when you stood under that HUGE discoball you always ended up jumping even when you didnt want to jump lols god i loved that place.

almost impossible to have another club like twilo. too many money-hungry owners and ppl behind the scenes as well as too many laws regarding nightlife

neways...

well not that this compares to twilo AT ALL -- but when they lowered the disco ball at Spirit during Armin and shone the lights on it, the whole room lit up and it was soo fuckin awesome --- the vibe as well as the MOMENT was AMAZING...

so gorgeous of a moment as i recall...

as far as i have been able to find out, there is no evidence to suggest this rumor to be true at all.
