I grew up in Wisconsin. If you haven't tried this within 24 hours of birth here, you're exiled to Iowa for life.

I'm in college and don't have my own outside (apartments), so sometimes for me a foreman grill is where it's at too... You gotta make due when you NEED a brat, and being from Wisco, let me tell you, I know what it's like to NEED a brat... Like right now...

Im sure they're good (never tried) but that might be sacralige to true brat fans....no ketsup, no cheese....just mustard onions and a beer brat. I do add a pickle an some homemade bbq sause but thats prolly frowned upon.....just add what you like. I know I wont put kraut on mine, but others swear by it.

Kidding right? The Wisco folk will have your ass I guess in texas you gotta have a fat steak or something slathered in BBQ sause. So when you make this, just add some bbq sause and your friends wount give you shit.

look like a hotdog to me...

and also, i dont like my hot dog with mustard or onions, just the meat and bun, mmmmmm

EDIT: and especially i hate yellow cheese! NASTY, i only eat the white cheese, and only when its on pizza.

That all it really is, but more like a sausage sandwich. Usually kraut is added but Im not a fan of it. If you hate onions you prolly should stick to hotdogs, seeing as you will endup eating it plain. It might be good still (at least better than a hotdog) the onions and mustard add to the whole meal and make it complete. I add a little BBQ sause (my own recipie) and a pickle. Just add or take away what you want.

Try this. Cut the onion up in thin slices and do the same for red peppers in like a nut brown beer. Boil the brats then remove them and set aside. Then boil down the beer and add some favorite spices. If you boil it down it will turn into like a Chutnee and use this for the topping. Wisconsin style. Again L.E.N. nice write up.

no no don't add flour.

The natural sugars from the beer will caramelize when boiled down making a sauce.

At least I think so!
