chable and dekay have both done a lot of top notch production or remixng and they're not cheese at all compared to what 99.9% of "trance" is.

as for the '99 progressive style . . . find it where it belongs, in the sets, mixes and memories from that year. it's now 6 years later and though that music is fantastic, it's not the music of right now.

things change, get used to it. this music is made basically only with technology and it's going to evolve more than any other kind of music has evolved historically (and most "other" music has evolved a LOT relatively short periods of time)

if you love that style good for you. i like it as well but the fact remains time goes on and things move forward. if you don't like where things have gone, just hope you'll like where they'll go in the future because it's not going to be 1999 ever again and the DJs and producers that want to exist tomorrow are not going to depend on the past for their sets and productions today.

sure, chable has done stuff that aint too deep, heh. there's alot of better quality breaks, but he's definately not as cheesy as pvd and nu-nrg at least

anyway his vocal pass with pqm - you are sleeping and burma are both great

very well put... 99 and 2000 were probably my fav years for EDM but as you said, things change.

burma is starting to catch up to ride as the most annoying track of the past year. Atleast use Quest vs. Dirty Fours - Bass Trap maybe as a better example.

Yeah,

I'm not hugely into prog, so i'm not aware of a lot of the artists u guys speak of, but i kind of agree with a lot of the things Ory has said.

the sounds now-a-days is a lot more gliterry, and warmer. Back then it was a lot deeper, more haunting, and a lot more euphoric. I love Northern Exposure 1. So good .

I havent heard most of the tracks in that sasha set, but I'm sure I know the style you mean, the type of stuff on J00F'S "Progressive Euphoria" CD (2001)

absolutely awsome quality stuff, more dark and driving and techy than this current "twinkly schulz stuff", of which most sounds like conveyer-belt samey samey samey productions to me now

Why isn't there any really awesome Sasha/digweed/zabiela sets on TA downloads anyways?

One in particular i want is Sasha vs Zabiela. It was a 4 hour set I've heard a lot about, that everyone says is awesome.

Judging from the variety of musical preferences of the members on this board, I think there should be a wider variety of sets put up for download, just to show new people (of which a lot end up here after they saw the sets that are for download) the broadness of the members' musical interests. In that way, you'd attract a wider variety of people in the end, which is a good thing I think.

On the other hand, www.livesets.com covers a far wider range of livesets, you could always go there if you want something different.

well Diggy's Progressive trance. Hell, that's if you believe there is such a genre as "progressive". It's all skewed and mixed up.

I think it's just on the line. It warrants atleast 1 live-set on Trance addict. Especially the 4 hour Sasha vs Zabiela set i've heard a lot about.

I mean, there's an Astral Projection download. I think most standard TAs will think it sux. I'm not used to, or into psy, and i think it sux... lol...

It started as a Trance site, yes. However, the general consensus is that 'Tranceaddict' is just a name; the site has evolved over the past few years to become more 'EDMAddict' than anything. You'll have to get used to people loving more than one thing.
