I need somewhere to crash!!

reason: I have to be home monday night to move to NYC, so getting a hotel sunday night is worthless because the party is over at noon monday (after checkout). anyone volunteer?

Posted by stuntman on Aug-05-2005 08:49:

Yeah..no passport needed..but just bring it incase. Immigration isnt dumb about not knowing the parties that go on around big cities. I am pretty sure they will know about Labor of Love rave..and im sure they will be checkin people going in.

Anyone from upstate NY going for this ??...and yo...if u see us people across the canadian border there...HOLLA!!!...

we should all get together and like bomb the canadians out from the guv... hah...ok lame joke...j/k

Prob true....but no need to hide it...just be honest with the boarder patrol....we have always told them we are going to Toronto to "party" and we always get the same response..."have fun!!"

Posted by yankeeBaby on Aug-06-2005 05:56:

Last time I told them I had just come back from LOL, they asked me if I had done ecstacy and searched my car for 20 minutes. I swear this really happened

Posted by tatgirl on Aug-06-2005 13:28:

Ya, I would NOT suggest being honest about going to club for the weekend. People get searched hard, in both directions of the border. "going to Toronto for the weekend to visit a friend/ relative/ sightsee" is the safest route.

hey TatGirl didn't want to put any disses on this thread so I'm going to have too. With that being said the fool Jose had a fantastic time but as for me it didn't go so well. Plus I eneded up wasting mad dollars.I gotta say those strippers sure gave me a happy ending

Posted by Ray7455 on Aug-06-2005 17:57:

ill be coming again this year, and i agree with brian, last year we also just told the guy at the border we were going to party and he told us the same thing, "have a good time" and waved us on through, didnt even take a look at any of our ids

Posted by vtec junkie on Aug-06-2005 20:15:

Yes I wouldn't suggest saying to were at LOL coming back into the States....you might as well tell them your cracked the fock out driving home. But going into Canada telling them your going to party isn't exactlly saying your going to a rave or something of that matter. But one thing that your should not do is go through the border with facial piercing or wearing a bandana. They don't like that shit at all. Just play it cool and look the person in the eyes and you wount have anything to worrie about. If they do search you....big deal....it's happened to me before and it doesn't take THAT long.

can we still get across the border with birth certificates or do we need our passports?

I haven't had problems crossing the border in detroit with a birth certificate and a piece of photo id.

Yup usually it takes about 3 minutes. But this one time I was referring to we were there FOREVER!! and they were really rude....this one guy kept talling me to open my "green bag." I didn't have a green bag so he got reall REALLY mad that I didn't know what he was talking about. I was getting really nervous that I had a green bag that I may have forgotten about LOL....He reached in my car and pulled out this dark BROWN bag and said "THIS green bag!!!" and made me dump it. Stupid gaurd!!! He looked in every pocket of every bag, in my asprin bottle, in my shoes, socks, everything! holy shite! I was pissed

i use to go to school in rochester and we'd drive to toronto quite often. i don't know how many times i've been searched and spent countless hours watching them go through my old car. i can honestly say i've spent about 27-30hours in total at the border. its even worse when you have a group of young college kids (pre 9/11) - one even said to me "if i find as much as a seed in this car you guys are gonna be here for a while" lols thats coming back into the U.S. and one time, they based their premise for search cuz i had fruit from the hotel that we stole, apparently i wasn't paying attention and agricultural laws prohibit such. yea that one sucked too but i feel you, spending time at the border sucks! lols

**As an added bonus, the entire party will be broadcast on ETN.fm (thank you, Chris!) as the pre-Labour of Love warmup.

Sept. 3 also marks Sean's (nasean3) birthday, and this will also be a 'going away' party of sorts for Darren (Spankmeister), who is trading in his mailing address in Ann Arbor, MI for a better one in Miami, FL! (< I guess he liked Pizza Rustica even more than I did ).

I'm driving to TO Thursday night. Still have to convince my friend (not too into EDM) about this party, but even if he still objects, that Saturday meetup sounds cool.

If you're coming up for the BBQ, please roll call in here (with your city of origin, if it's not clear in your profile)
