for example in a club you are always moving around, where as in a theater you sitting down so there for you can experience the real 5.1. So I wonder how they can do that in a club.

ya a good monitor is a must and you can spend more then $5000 on them.

I say save the money and treat your room and then see which monitors suits you the best.

5.1 in a club is lame.

Most movie theaters usually aren't that great and they're supposed to be wonderful well talk about clubs haha which usually invest the bare minimum in sound on average unfortunately!

I don't see that taking off at all :-/

I'm not against the idea I just don't see it being done well.

And humm monitors you could easily hit the 50K $ mark and then add 2 to 3 grand just for the speaker cables ..... One day maybe!

mp4's are crazy around half the size of mp3's yet quality is around 320kbs

speaking of large sytems,I went to to mastering studio and

I forgot what they were using there but it was a 2 million dollar studio.

ya achieving 5.1 at a club is really pointless.I guess they just want to create surround effect which they already can I think it is called decrete surround?

question: Do most of the clubs have mono or stereo system?or do they have both options?

I run dual Logitech Z-5300 sets on splitters to the sound card. Signal goes out to both subs for amplification and transport to ten speakers. (Two per channel.) Around 760W RMS, 1100W peak. Way more bump than my room can even handle.

hummm I don't know what decrete surround is but that sounds like something fakely dsp-d ( like fakely processed rear sound outputs )

Now in regards to true stereo or mono in clubs that's really tricky between the phase shifts and crap.
Generally speaking it's best to run bass cabs mono ( l+r mixed ) exclusively and the rest is a mix of mono and stereo......

Having an extensive stereo image in a club on top of the fact there's multiple sound points can cause a severe mess between the room delay's, backline points, constantly varying environnement etc.
It's less then ideal usually!

I doubt what he has would brake a window.

It's actually very difficult to bust windows in a room as there's so much air space and place for circulation.

One area where he could bust windows without too much pain would be in the rear of a car running some test tones cranking the load up like crazy. It sucks so much air the window could shatter.

I'm f*cking impressed. My Logs are lesser at 900W peak because I got a Z-5300 and a Z-5600, but like Punisher states, more bump than you can handle. My view, like his is to simply overpower the f*ck outta the system, then tone it down for your listening pleasure at less than wall crumbling power.

C'mon now nchs09 and Nou. Complain about the low quality of Punisher's lowly Logitech power and the need to balance your system for your room size.

C'mon now, you f*cking dweebs. I got someone on my side now.

Ya you are right bass cabs have to be mono and I think all the mids and high mids are switched out of phase,I could be wrong on this though.

you really dont! I too have a 20gb mp3 player. I seriously recommend a 40gb one. You don't realize how small 20gb actually is

Cool. At least you're coming around to reality. Although I have 900W power, I rarely use more than 100-200W. But the walls are the limit if I wanna go there...

A shame you gotta sort through old trash and try to make the parts work instead of simply buying off the shelf. Been there, done that years ago...
