Its the same reason South Americans and MesoAmericans hate only US being called Americans. You've enevr stepped up for someone only to have them lash out at you for defending them rather than defending themselves?

Living in the midwest, I've seen black people lash out at white people for defending them against traditional hillbillies using racial slurs. The rationale is that your defense of them makes them feel like they can't defend themselves, or cant create or assume the cultural identity of their choice. If you've never witnessed thisd pheonomenom, it does seem to be chance and decided on an individual factor.


In other words, I'm not talking about offending someone who has made an incorrect statement. Im talking about offending some by (and while) trying to defend them.

Wait, are acorns considered nuts in English? If not, the whole point of my sig fails

not really...they are more in their own category of Acorns...we dont consider them a nut as much as the edible hard cased varities are.

so yeah its more of a seed, but my brother and I both made the cognitive leap to what you probably meant.

Actually I do find the term oriental insulting sure Asian isn't perhaps the greatest term out there. But oriental is just as widely encompassing as the term asian, except it has past derogatory uses that i'm not a fan of. F*ck off, apeboy your posts aren't that great either.
