Cripes! Slylee's getting married!
I don't think there is anything wrong with this guy. Yes, buying that book might have been a way for him to tell you he loves you or is falling in love with you but, it isn't something you should really worry about. Have you considered that he might be falling for you and he just doesn't know what to do about himself? I'm guessing he is shy too, so buying the book is a sign that he is trying to get your attention. And he has done just that! This could very well be his first time feeling this way too.
Another thing I want to point out is that you probably did yourself no good by emailing him and saying 'lets slow down' because he probably needs reassurance like most people and this might just come across as you trying to put him aside and deal with him when you're ready. But I could be wrong.
Just don't put him aside too long or he is likely to move on eventually. Trust me on that one. Most of use guys who are goal driven don't sit and wait too long for anything. Even women!
And yes, I am a pisces, so called sensitive and puppy dog type guy but I have my shit together as well. You just need to deal with our shit or if you get lucky we have already partially grown up and realized not be so damn needy.
Oh and about love.. I am happy in love with my girlfriend of nine months. And we never mentioned the 'L' word until are fourth month dating. But the moment I met here I knew I was going to end up loving here one day, it was just a matter of time.
I used to have such a huge crush on Slylee when I first joined TA..
my advice = TA dating is a NO-NO!! trust me on this one

Originally posted by Floorfiller with that said though...i hope it works out because he is a nice guy, but we ruin things without really realizing it until too much damage is done. i hope that somehow he can grow out of those things which i know he is doing or if not will start doing in the future... you're probably right...he's probably falling for you hard. and really all he wants is to make you the happiest person in the world...so if you can be patient with that and reassure him when he needs it...which i promise will be a lot...then i think you guys will be fine. if not, well i hate to say it, but it might be hard down the road...

Originally posted by Slylee anyway, i shared my letter with jason who swears he is a lot like this guy and he said my email was very clear in getting my point across, but sweet too, and that he'll probably like it. he didn't call me last night or email me back yet...so i don't know. i was thinking of driving down to his place late at night on wednesday and putting some flowers on his car or something so he's all surprised in the morning
I read that book hehe. As cheesy as it is and obvious...it at least brings it to the forefront of your thoughts a bit more and Ill be doing something and start thinking of it in that way...its pretty ridiculous.
and yes...a girl made me read it haha

Originally posted by Sinatra Well, at least you realize you have to establish yourself first in order to obtain lifes other pleasures, such as being in relationship. Its difficult having a life throughout a week and then suddenly trying to have a relationship on the weekend when you're so busy with school, work etc. However, if I were in your shoes, I would have at least told the person face to face; it shows respect and that you aren't afraid of the situation. Not that what you did was horribly wrong, I would have just done things different. I recently went through something similar with a friend but I am already in a relationship, so I had to tell her face to face that nothing would happen because I was taken and very much happy. It was hard and I was afraid of the way she would have reacted but, in all fairness it made things easier because we were able to talk about openly and not hold anything back. By the way, you might want to call the guy! If he is like me, which by the sounds of things is true, he will want you to call him or suprise him by showing up or something. The smallest things like getting a text message can really help.

Originally posted by Slylee Well yea I HAVE been assuring him of my feelings and where I stand in person when were togetherI was just sort of reiterating all of that in a letter. I told him to give me a call or please write back after hes considered what I said (about him thinking about whether or not he can handle things the way they are going to be for a while). I was thinking of showing up at his place Wednesday night if I dont hear from him by then. Ill pick some flowers on the way or something.

sorry, but watermelon is gross
so even though at the end of my letter i said to call me or write back after he clears his head and thinks about what i've said, you guys think i should call him anyway tonight if i don't hear from him?
in the letter i told him to think really hard about whether or not he is ok with the situation right now and if he can deal with it...the "situation" being that we can only see each other on weekends...
