That depends entirely on the people involved.

I'm not that great at dj terminology, but what is the difference between a live and a non-live dj competition?

Posted by Rukahs on Oct-01-2005 02:13:

you can count me in - DJ Chris Hince

A LIVE DJ SET means that your mix is the equivalent of a set mixed life in front of 'n' number of people.

A NON-LIVE DJ SET means that your mix is the equivalent of a set mixed at home/ in a studio and it is played afterwards.

I hope you understand what I am trying to wxplain here

In the non-live one you can do your mix with an editing program, like SoundForce, CoolPro, ProTools, ... In this one you must mix "live" no editing, with programs like Atomix, Traktor, VTT..... got the ideea?

I hope not.

Posted by DJ Trancedelic on Oct-01-2005 11:48:

You still can edit you tracks in the live competition only you're supposed to edit them live. Actually ... you have to remix them live ... that's pretty much it: so loops, midi beats, live mash-ups... the works.
However you'll need good software: I recomend ableton live 5.1. but still you'll have to be a pretty good dj to do these things live

Come on people, two more judges

Posted by evelon on Oct-04-2005 14:29:

Count me in as a DJ. This should help close the gap :)

Posted by djsphere on Oct-04-2005 15:23:

ok, evelon is the last dj in, though we still accept judges until the 15th of october. djs can submitt a mix until the 15th of november. when you have done your mix and want to upload pm me.

Posted by Takayuki on Oct-04-2005 18:47:

There should be like 10 judges since there is 25 DJs... this way any bias' can be avoided when marking the mixes.. and especially if judges drop out like with the non-live... what do you think?

Posted by Rockabye on Oct-04-2005 19:21:

you'll never find 10 judges

10 Judges would be nice... i think you should be one

Posted by DJ Trancedelic on Oct-05-2005 05:18:

You don't need all the judges ... but you could raise the nomber to 10 and see how many actually do join cause until 15th Oct they still have about 2 weeks.

Posted by AndySmith on Oct-06-2005 12:03:

I'm going to have to pull out, sorry

So that means there is another spot for DJ.

Posted by Lord Fubar on Oct-06-2005 13:27:

I would've judged but I'm already judging in the competition that djgemini has organised
