I don't mind most of the vocals, except for that 'Are you there?' part in the breakdown. Has to be one of the most freaking annoying vocal bits. Ever.

it really all depends if your in good company i guess. I stuck with jennypie for 3-4 hours until i lost her in the disaster. Should have never went to the "shrooms" door but my blatter was gonna burst. i thought Lee was briliant i WAS a fan and i thought he smoked timo maas hands down.

After being a little pissed for losing chris i bounced over to kh where Hawtin seemed to be working up a storm on his minimal set. Very gifted mixer but everyone looked like they were in a death march. i saw the first hour of cox and he was brilliant.....then i bounced

give the night a 7.86

PS. i was trying to hunt people down the whole night......i lost everyone. just curious where did everyone stay?

lates Vince

HAPPY THANKSGIVING.............I SMELL TURKEY!

LOL@ the shrooms door.....that was funny....I ended up takin off quite early, the revs got to my stomach, I said bye to a couple people but couldnt find anybody I went with!!! I lost my brother, Ola, Ben, Yohan, Aron, Vince, I lost you too! lol (ps when you said jennypie, did you mean me? or was this a later part of the night?) Lost em all! But im sure I was in good hands as long as I was with the TA's Good night, enjoyed the music indeed, wasnt too rammmed, ran into ppl I know from filmfest, always a pleasant surprise to see them...good to see everybody else as well! Wish I got D to come out tho dammit! The nights still kind of a blur for me (ugh revs) but I dont remember a bad moment at all, so all is good!!

as for Turkey, I hate being a procrastinator, and my parents are gone to ottawa, and there just doesnt seem to be one for me today I was looking so forward to it also!!!

what about concerts? I can never seem to move at concerts.

Posted by Cribby on Oct-10-2005 18:49:

here's only one thing left to say.....

I LOVE TECHNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like many others, this was the fucking best event I've ever been to, which doesn't come as a surprise really. I've never dance so fucking hard the whole night without ANY alcohol or well um...substances lol. I tried doing the same at Global Gathering and I couldn't handle it. Tonight had my name written all over it. Carl Cox was my pick of the night, started off as average but as his set progressed he just dropped one amazing tune after the next. His enthusiasm got my pumped as well, the dude just wouldn't let me rest my bon. Next to Cox, Lee Burridge got me the most pumped. For the short amount of time I got to experience, he layed down tracks that made me cream MULTIPLE times...those electro inspired tunes are what I live for. Memorible mentions as well are for Timo Mass, who played an above average set, and also Richie Hawtin who didn't do much for me at first, but was pretty decent. Loco Dice was pretty good, it was a nice start for me. This night raped me, fucking everyone hole in my body :P Nice catching the TAs I saw, and hope the ones that I didn't see had a blast!

Despite Laura's non-stop urgings, we are NOT sticking around for this party. She's now trying to strong arm Margaret into going to the Biodome. Poor Margaret....

All I have to say is:

We went to the better party!!!!

Def. going down as the most favorite massive that I've ever attended here. Awesome music from start to end. Closed that bitch down at 12:15.

P.S: It was Ceballos, not Chus, who stuck it out on the dance floor. According to him Chus "is old" & went back to the hotel to sleep.

OF COURSE the Guv was too packed.
Everyone generally agrees Cox destroyed it.

Only avg night Emery? Shitty. Shoulda had PvD!

lol.. actually the music was quite good. and the crowd i thought was better than normal. Guv was quite packed as always , but the other rooms were suprisingly breathable. so i guess a not so 'average' nite

BReaks Room and Tent had some very IRIE VIBEZ!

was also fun bustin moves with some not so usual TOTA suspects .. w00t

Looks to me like this was one waaaaaay too hyped up party. Glad I didn't waste 45+. I'm sure Cox stole the show as usual but hes been here a few times this year already... Techno = ZZzzZZzzZZzzzzzzz ... Hawtin belongs in Detroit where his minimalist techno can be more appreciated.. they would have gone apeshit to have a linep like Hawtin, Maas and Cox all in one night... Guvy loves their prog house/trance... generally speaking..

IMO Without a doubt the best party of the year was Labour Of Love... It's kinda sad to see that Guv's Anniv wasn't bigger and better than LoL.. oh well, theres always 2006... and for those who are going to say "the year isn't over yet"... still I don't think anything will top LoL. That night was just f#$%ing ridiculously amazing, but I guess we'll just have to wait and find out :P

I am glad you had a great time at LoL. But remember one thing, each to their own. I for one think last night topped LoL in many ways. Music, crowd, etc. But that is my personal opinion. You may not like Techno, but there are other people who swear by it. The same goes for Trance. Thus generalizing that spending $45+ towards last night would not be commendable. We have to appreciate the talent that comes to Toronto. Pure top class. Not trying to start any flames, just something to think about.

I got in, (no need to grease bouncer) it was beautiful.

I really went to see Coxy but I think Timo was the bomb!

Maybe I was tired when I got to Cox

Got home at 8:40

Mmmm.....

Hopefully soon I'll get to know more TOTA's and actually MEET some of you.

Just by the review posts is what I am generalizing my bias towards... looks like all the techno fans loved off the night but generally it seemed like most people were expecting A LOT more... maybe not? ME personally spending $45+ on that night would have been a waste of money... not necessarily anyone else.

lee burridge, the best set...its hard to say if it was better than his set last year in system but it was great...meant for hte larger system

for some STRANGE reason, D-Monic kept trainwrecking...

all rooms had great music playing, lots of familiar tracks but i think im the ONLY one to find the vibe "hollow" last night...it was just SO lacking

id give this party a 3/10 for that

Posted by 7-4-7 on Oct-10-2005 20:08:

definatley a techno party.

By far the best set i've ever heard Carl Cox play was last night.

"Good Morning Toronto!" = Carl Cox

plently of room to dance, washroom walks wern't too bad, not alot of smoking inside, line up was quick...can't complain about anything.

I was half hoping that Maas and Cox were going to put on a little show together when he came by the second time....

Great Night.

LOL

I always that you were Jennypie on Ta. My bad...

down with TA names!

SOMEONE ARREST CARL.....CAUSE HE KILLED ME.

I got there at 10 and met up with Tyler in the guestlist line...always great to see you again. Sat in line for a half hour waiting to get in so I could take a piss. The first have hour was all about taking a piss.

Went over to KH and MO was warming things up and as always he delivered although I just wasn't in the dancing mmod yet. Spent the first hour just saying hi to people. Met so many new TOTAs I think my head is gonna explode....I think we all need business cards with our photos on them for night like that.

Went to the tent to catch a little Sydney action....I love this woman...she knows how to get a party rockin.

Went back into KH....don't know who was spinning....it was probably around 1 so I am sure you all know who was spinning. I was front and centre trying to get hyped up for the night.

At this point some lady comes up to me and is like

"Hi, you look like a Josh....I am going to call you Josh tonight"

I'm like "Sure, mmmmm, okay, whatever"

She then goes on to introduce about 10 people to me and advising them all that I am josh.

Went over to Guv around 2:30 to catch a little Hawtin before Carl....Hawtin was good but no real energy level. I think they need MO to take over just to get the crowd ready for what Carl was going to do to them.

So carl comes on and he starts laying down some sick beats. I was lucky enough to find an area where it wasn't too crowded so I didn't think it was all that bad and I had more then enough room to move. I knew carl was going to own me when he played that one track with Metallica in it. I was sold at that point. Moral Hazard.....I don't know where he was most of the night but around 6 he finds me in the Guv and wants to know if I am ready to go....I tell him 10 more minutes....well ten minutes turned into another hour and by 7 we left with beats still going through my legs.

Overall....it wasn't an overly exciting night for me until Cox got on but it was still a great night.

As always you have the shirtless wonders but I have gotten to the point where I just move them along and keep dancing. I did see some chick deck a guy who was trying to pick her up. I don't know what he said but she slugged him hard....Good For her.
