for me it was 30 beats.. ok i'm not sure that i have really understood what beat actually is..
one other sample (last one. maybe i'm boring you..
)..
antmp.0catch.com/new_sample_5sec.mp3
for me it was 13 beats what about you???
First one is 40 beats, second one is 14.
assuming the track is in 4/4 and at a tempo between 130-150 bpm there are 7 beats in the second sample. the only way there would be 14 beats in that sample is if it was either 4/4 at about 280 bpm or if it was 2/8 or 4/8 or 8/8 at about 280 bpm which considering its a standard trance track, i very much doubt.
im not listening to the other one because i cant be bothered to count to 56!
It's so standard because it's how we walk/move in general. You don't walk "one two three...one two three..." you walk "One two one two one two" which is the same as "one two three four".
You can usually tell what is 4/4 if you listen to the emphasis of the beat. If the loud beat goes LOUD soft LOUD soft, then it's 4/4 (well, 2/2, but it's really the same). If it goes LOUD soft soft then its 3/4 time.
THanks guys... I'm none the wiser. In Fact... I'm thoroughly confused...
