As much as I hate to reference dictionary.com, the third definition of opinion is:
A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing
Ian is simply making a judgment on the merit of, in this case, a person. Furthermore, the first definition of opinion is A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof. Now, Ian might not have positive knowledge or proof that these people are deluded, related to the djs, or just thick, but that is his belief, and he holds it with confidence.
Don't really know what else to add.

Why in God's name does this absolutely foolish ranking mean anything?
Although i don't think this poll is extremely important, i think it's nice as a little guide.... just not to be taken too seriously.
however, my concerns are that it's too frequient. It pressures DJ to pump out shit music really quickly, and makes them release very commercially/cheesey tunes, so the music suits the tastes of ppl that arent really into trance. This is just so they can garner more votes. If the poll was every 4 years, like the olympics, it'd be better.
I think DJmag is actually bad for trance :-|.
anyway, i would've been happy with Tiesto #1 .
