I will gladly help you.

on another note, of the choises earlier stated i have to go with Hardwick. Even tho Sashas set was good it wasnt all the revolting as some ppl want it to be. Overall i think the em's of 2005 has been quite bland.

agreed

im a trance freak and that was the best EM IMO this year. everything else basically sucked this year. sasha had a decent one, but listening to i was like watching grass grow.

Posted by dex316 on Nov-15-2005 13:45:

i think theres been a mistake - theyve forgot to put paul woolfords em in the list which for me is the best em this year

of those i really liked middletons. sashas was good as well.

radio 1 started counting EMs from the end of october -- that's how king unique made the cut but yes, black strobe's was indeed outstanding

For those saying "why wasn't this or that included on the list" or "thats a crap shortlist". The shortlist is composed from the nominations for mix of the year. So if people wanted certain mixes to go for mix of the year, they needed to be nominated on the Radio 1 site in the first place.

I think Pendulum should win but my fav was Sasha's hands down. I still listen to it on a regular basis and its awesome every time.

I think ur mothers got "owned" haha, answer the question or stop bein a forum geek , point is the EM's alot of em are so minimal hence fucking BORING, that its not even fun to listen to, dont tell me to go listen to armin, when I dont even listen to trance. Sasha and many others had such boredom goin on that I had to surf some dirty sites to get my mind off the horrific tune selection.

has the idea of pressing stop crossed your mind?

p.s
i could prolly count all the "minimal" EM's of the year on one hand.

One of my fav essential mixes of the year has to be Derran Emerson @ gladstonbury i have been playing that set almost every day since i recorded it

Did any of you actually go onto Radio 1's site and request the EM's you're all talking about? Before voting started you could log-on to their new message board and request which ones made the final cut. Sasha's was one of my favorite this year, so was the Global Gathering set. I voted King Unique simply because when that set aired last year it was all new music. An entirely new sound that has now conquered most house dj's record boxes. So good on them!

edit
Ok I guess not everyone knows how the system works

Before the voting even started you could log on to Radio 1 and list your favorite EM's of the year. It started with King Unique from 2004 and ended with Matt Hardwick's. Obviously not every single EM from the year is on there...only the ones that got the majority vote

Posted by madmrmojo on Nov-18-2005 00:06:

Tom Middleton got my vote...his set was funky as all hell.
Pendulum and Sasha come in close though.

Posted by Shook1 on Nov-18-2005 01:13:

Rasta

I wanted to vote the always overlooked Middleton set.....but Sasha picked a great time to mix his EM which i thought was flawless. Sasha gets my vote .....his sets this year from Orlando to Montreal set it off BIG!!!

Posted by Tim Shady on Nov-18-2005 01:30:

Pendulum's EM was by far and away the best one I've heard this year.

Posted by charon on Nov-18-2005 02:43:

Shitty finalist list.

My pics:

1. Sasha
2. Desyn
3. Digweed
4. Angello and Ingrosso
