ACTually, many of the people on the SA Forums work for gaming stores and they've gotten notices that shipments of Xbox360s will be coming in once a week

Curious to know has anyone here had any of the issues such as overheating or lock-ups, etc...?

yes any technical errors?

maybe someone could tell us about the overheating or whatever the problem is?

My system froze once in quake 4 waiting for a game, but it reboots real fast and you can do it right from the controller or the remote so its not so bad i can stay on the couch and reboot. Other than that im totally addicted to this.

Apparently you can stop the overheating by raising the PSU above the floor, i.e. leaving it hanging by the cable or place it on the edges of a box so the underside is exposed. Dunno if it works or not.

So I'm hearing people who got their xbox in the first shipment did not experience the problems. Overall, 15% of the people across the US have the defected Xbox. Guess my brother was lucky not to get his copy yet

it's alright, it doesn't seem to be a huge jump like from PS1 to PS2, more like PS2 to XBox type of jump. but then again this is just the first round of games i'm sure they'll max out the xbox 360's graphics once it's been out longer

i think the one i got to play was one of those 15%, i probably would have been more impressed if it wouldn't have frozen up 3 times in an hour and a half of playing

Silly Santa. He brought my gifts a bit early. And all that he left were these boxes. Baah.

yeah after having a good go on one this is how i feel about it too. PGR is decent enough and the graphics are nice but they arent that much of a leap forward. All in all most the games out are all a bit shite other than PGR and Perfect Dark. It has some really nice features other than the games and the connectability is certainly going to be a good selling point.

Does anyone know if its possible to put film rips and tv rips on the hard drive and watch them through ur tv somehow? Or possibly connecting an external HD by USB for the same effect?

i know if you have a windows media center pc you can easily connect to it and get files from there to share to ur xbox 360... pics, videos and whatnot... i had the 360 for the first week and then sold it due to greed

My brother finally got his tonight. I called Gamestop earlier and asked them if my brother was in the next shipment. Apparantly they were calling people before that were ahead of him giving them 24 hour notices. A bunch of people didn't pick theirs up, so they were like, if you want, you can get yours now. I'm just waiting for some RPGs like Enchant Arm & Tales of Rebirth to hit this system. Other than that, the Recording TV shows/movies sounds cool. If that's a real feature. And there seems to be pirates working on selfboot discs to play import games until a mod comes out. eh...
