I'm having one right now, it sucks, i'm home alone and i'm desperately trying not to hyperventillate! Can anyone help?
Fuck!

Sincere advice : Do Yoga or Chi Kung on a regular basis, it will help you to relax and improve your mental balance. Forget regular exercise, it's not very useful for dealing with this sort of thing.

I get panic attacks from time to time, and Chi Kung helps with it.

I think I've had them when I've been at the dentist, though it's never been diagnosed so i can't be sure. I know exactly why im phobic - i can still feel extreme pain when im under local anaesthetic (on my first filling, i told the dentist that my mouth wasn't frozen, but she ignored me and went on drilling). I don't even try to deal with the fear/panic reaction - as far as i'm concerned, im panicking for a good reason. I avoid the trigger (dentist) at all costs - only when the pain (abcesses etc) has got totally unbearable, i go to the dentist and insist on a sedation.
