Finally a deephouse topic on TA ...never thought id see the day to a genre thats got more heart n flavor than trance and any other combined.

Buzzin Fly 4 life mawfuckaz

quote:
well if you liked the samples above...i'd check into dj's like

Sander Kleinenberg, Nic Fanciuli, Danny Howells etc

of course they aren't strictly deep house, but you'll find a lot of stuff like this on their CD compilations...

I wouldnt even mention those names because they are the furthest thing from deephouse there is.

Give a listen to Ben Watt's remixes and comps on buzzin' ...probably the most respected figure in deephouse music, hes to deephouse wut oakenfold is to trance, he's put in so much work in, that its mind numbing, the guy went from his early EBTG stuff with Tracy Thorn, which was bossanova to the latter years of EBTG where they started experimenting with house, and then he went full swing into deephouse, i dunno i think I'm bias a bit in that I love the guy so much. Miguel Migs would be the obvious name to mention ...guys pretty established, eventhough I dont particularly dig alot of what he does cuz it sounds a bit mainstream. If you wanna go full tilt into mainstream deephouse, checkout junior jack, room 5, stonebridge, and the entire head kandi label. Uhm .. if you missed Ben's essential mix earlier in the year, be sure to get it, it was terrific. Way too many acts to even begin naming.

PS - If you wanna ger real heavy real quick, get all of Timewriters albums...masterpieces. Letters from a Jester, Diary of a Lonely sailor and so on ..i have em all so if u wanna know wut the swag is just gimme a pm. I'm way more into deephouse then I am into todays trance.

I would check out those samples, but I'm listening to another Deep House track at the moment:

Mike Koglin vs Jono Grant - Sequential (Pig & Dan Remix)

This remix rocks!

...yea also listen to some of that deephouse Andy Moor/Phynn, I hear theyre the next diggy in deephouse

Posted by A.J. on Dec-09-2005 14:01:

Mr Fingers - Can You Feel It is acid house, isn't it?

I mean, it has that phenomenal, deep, spacey sound to it, but i always thought it was considered to be an acid house track.

i must agree with you! i was so confused when i saw those names in this thread.

Posted by Floorfiller on Dec-09-2005 15:30:

let me explain my way i put those guys up here hehehe...

like i said a couple of times, i don't think this guy is looking for deep house. that's my mistake. look at the tunes he suggested...are any of those deep house? not really. so i posted up some tunes. a lot of which i got off of those dj's various cd comps. he seemed to like them so i suggested he maybe keep checking out those dj's...

anyway, i'm done helping people with music on TA so don't worry. there won't be that kinda problem in the future.

Posted by Kooshtie on Dec-09-2005 18:36:

Ey dude, wasnt tryin to be a knob ...just sayin u know, those artists arent very "deep" ...

That's kinda strange, considering nearly everything you've suggested to me so far in this topic has been EXACTLY what I was looking for, lol.

I no know, man'. Miss Cleo say man' she don' think it be groovy and of de house.

Really, I don't know. I think as you've said, genre phenomenal, deep and spacey works just fine

Thanks! I've heard alot about Timewriters and even think I've downloaded some of their tracks in the past. Now I'm reminded to do so. If Watts is what Oakenfold is to trance, I'm not very enthused. What track do you recommend?

Am I the only being on this god foresaken peanutboat to not dig Hed Kandi?

I'm pretty sure you'll find sizeable amounts of vehemence for its handbag house concepts among the people from UK here, as Hed Kandi has had a tendency to invade club back rooms and festivals all over the country. That being said, the music is not all bad if you just bother to look bit deeper.

Back on topic. I'm having a hard time figuring out just what this thread is about, but going by that Hot Toddy-track Floorfiller posted, I'd say these tracks should fit nicely:

Vivian Green - Fanatic (Eric Kupper & Francois K's Classic Vocal Mix)
Shazz - El Camino (Kevin Yost Remix Pt.1 & 2)
Joshua - Work It Out
Pepe Bradock - Life
Chateau Flight - Prism
The Coastal Commission - Our Music
Floppy Sounds - Late Night
Chris Lum - Ease Up On It
Diadem - Saturday Session #2

Mark Farina's mixalbums might appeal also, particularly Connected.
