| Originally posted by dj_bas There's good mix cds, and there's GU 28. I've seen Nick Warren live a few times and he rocked it, I have many of his live sets and again he rocked it. When it came to GU 28 he simply didn't deliver. The first cd was absoulte crap, just dull and boring tracks that didn't really go anywhere. The 2nd cd stared the same and toward the end got a little better, but still...i've heard him do better. So the fact that i'm "a trendwhoring techhead" doesn't really come into play. And if i'm trendwhoring what exactly are you? lol |
You must be taking the piss if you think you're no trendwhore. Do you see Bas's setlists? Compare them to yours. All of your shit is being played out by everyone, his isn't. Oh, but that's right, you discovered your music by "only listening to friends mixes and mixes in DJ promotion forum."

| Originally posted by dinoXpress No, i said those were the only livesets i listen to. It's not like I have a record store nearby, and i already know my november demo is full of tunes that are being caned by everyone. but don't compare my sets to those of a professionally released compilation series.. Wait til december. I'm not taking the piss anywhere. and i wouldnt exactly call aftermath or half the other tunes on bas's demo underground. (no offense to you bas) |
...but it's more meant for people and promoters here in LA not globally. In LA as well as other parts of America, the minimal/tech house and acid house sound is very new. So yes...it is underground minus Aftermath.

Trust a bunch of trance loving ******s to think that GU27/28 etc are better than Balance 008.
I couldn't give a fuck who's gonna mix it, it will be shit nonetheless. All the GU dj's are a bunch of overpaid has-beens anyway.
I only like extremely good mixes.
Otherwise what's the point in buying them?
I will have to check out the one GU that everybody told me was reeeeeaally good

Timo Maas
or
Luke Fair
though this might sound as crap to a lot of the die-hard GU lovers here (who like releases of sasha, oakie, lavelle, warren, tenaglia, etc), i think a good idea would be to do one of Paul van Dyk, GU029 Berlin, which would then be live recorded it a loveparade (edition 2006, if the loveparade is donethis year, but i guess not ... or anywhere in the near future)
also, G&D looks good to me.
to go with previous submissions/ideas, timo maas is a good one too i think.
and how about Underworld ... ??
let me know what you guys think of this!

Ewan Pearson would add a nice electro house spin on GU. id like to see that.
