no. I didn't say that you are stupid for wanting to protect your girl or making her feel worthwhile.

I think that in a situation like that, every girl (dumb or smart, doesn't really have anything to do with intelligence) would WANT her boyfriend to knock the shit out of the asshole because in some way it makes her feel loved or special, BUT she has to understand that:

1) she is at a club (the guvernment is a good example here) where there are plenty of assholes of all ages and types. ass-pinching (or cheek-pinching in this case ), and name calling SHOULD be expected by her. I'm not saying it's right, but it happens. Being called a whore by a low-life loser does not necessarily make her a whore and if she understands that, it shouldn't bother her or make her feel disrespected.

2) making a big scene at the club and probably getting kicked out because of it is not a fun way to spend nye; this is assuming that the fight does not go as far as breaking a nose, being charged for assult and spending the night at the police station.

3) if she cared about, or "appreciated" as you say, her boyfriend she wouldn't want him to potentially get hurt for trying to defend her when she really didn't NEED to be defended (i.e. she was not in physical danger).

you are right that it's not about being macho. walking away in a situation like that does NOT mean that you don't appreciate your girlfriend. it's simply the smart/more classier way of handling the situation. Let me tell you something, that when a guy has a girl with him, and another guy talks shit to the girl, it's 95% of the time something he is doing to spite the dude, not to talk shit to the girl.

just an interesting point. they assign more women cops to domestic dispute calls. maybe the women cops can't fight as well as the male cops, but they diffuse the situation a lot faster then males.

Security is there for a reason and I think if ANY guy swung at a girl in a club there would be 15 other guys on him before he could do anything anyways.

I know what you mean. that's why, personally, I avoid going to clubs with no dress codes and no cover on a regular basis. they may be more fun but not worth having to put up with this kind of thing. that's not to say that such situations can be avoided at the more up-scale clubs but they occur a lot less often.

yes. because I don't take verbal insults thrown at me by losers seriously. i usually ignore them completely. but if a guy were to physically force himself on me(or cross the line in any way) I would make sure I grab some popcorn before watching his ass get kicked.

Hypothetical:

I have a problem with a guy, I go right up to him and pick a fight.
If his girl is with him, it's more fun by starting with her, and letting him start with me. Or even just being an asshole by showing him how much I really disrespect him by doing somethign liek that to her.

Seriously, if guy really had it out for the girl in this situation, he would have been a lot meaner than actually putting his hands on her. Especially if she was alone...he would have gotten jacked by every guy around, or even her girlfriends.
