heh...

...I remember in my first 2 weeks of not having a smoke, drinking with LKD and bugging the hell out of him for nearly half an hour to just "give me a drag"

Glad he didn't

I need to quit smoking. I know I say this all the time (I even started a thread about it a while back), and after my little smoking talks i had with a few of you at the cottage, I think that I will be quitting soon. Also, the fact that I have breathing problems AND I just recovered from a minor pneumothorax (a hole in my lung from getting it stabbed by a broken rib) kinda make me want to quit even more.

To be honest; quitting wasn't THAT hard. Just keep yourself occupied to keep your mind off smoking. If you get a craving, then get a substitute for it (eg. apple, gum, or whatever) and go do something else. Chances are that within 10 minutes you'll forget about the craving. Also, it helps if you have a short attention span

Nowadays when I get a craving I forget about it pretty quickly

my problem is that when i go for a walk outside, i automatically need a cigarette in my hands. if i dont have one i freak out and rush to a store and buy some.

haha, ya i know what u mean.

5 minute walk to school = cigarette on the way
waiting for the bus = have a cigarette
after dinner = cigarette

you need to keep a mental note for yourself, so that every time you crave a cigarette in situations like that, you remember that you're trying to quit. force yourself to struggle through situations like that and you'll get through it in no time

i WANT to quit, but its easier said than done.
