Just had a listen to a promo, and i have to say I'm impressed. Once again Holden has raised the bar on eclectic music. It seems he just doesn't know how to disappoint.
First cd essentially starts off beatless for the first 15min, but it quickly picks up with some great selectioin of tunes. On CD2, it seems to be a lil bit harder. But there's a couple tracks that i dont think quite fit, but nothing too bad or anything.
Overall, I give it 9/10 after a quick listen. And going by how Balance 005 grew on me, it may reach a 10 in the future.
I've had a few listens.
Wow.
Its pure Holden. Completely different than Balance 005...but that makes sense doesn't it?
The tracks just melt into each other. Beautiful selection.
Def something that will age well.
im really enjoying the first CD a lot, especially the first few songs. i love that first track. havent listened to CD2 yet but itsgonna be tough to outshine cd1 in my opinion
I've listened to the 2cd sampler that's been going about and the album is as I expected, amazing. I love the new minimal trippy sound Holden's acquired since he started Border Community. It's gotten progressively more minimal but in doing so, became more effective to his style.
An absolute gem of an album.
the 2nd disc is pure bliss

but the intro track definitely does it for me as well... i wonder who is behind the vocals in that track? sort of sounds like the singer from coldplay (or maybe i have bad hearing

I have the Album now, and I can say that Holden did a good job again. Progressive to Tech-House, he varied the CDs and this album is one of his best...Success after Balance 005!

really digging both CDs... i put CD 1 on while i was on a long car ride the other night and it was exactly what i wanted to hear at the time. i've only given both CDs one listen through, but i loved what i heard so far... very Holden-ish yet very different from Balance 005.
the track that comes in around 17 min into CD 1...
i have a feeling these discs will really grow on me and be listenable for a very long time.
Holden did a good job, that's definite. I am not perfect at analyzing House albums at first listening though so I have to listen it more and more to get the full action. The only two House Djs that can make me say this cd is fantastic, are Sasha and Hernan Cattaneo.

Here's a clue though..."I've seen golden waves crest off the shore" Therein lies the answer to your question |
