Interesting how this kinda morphed into a nutrition session but hey, it's an important part of the overall process
As far as vitamins go, I've been taking suppliments for well over 10 years now and I'm talking a GOOD multi-vitamin, not these 'bed-pan bullets' that go right through you either...
Interestingly enough, I'm going to have access to an actual DNA swab test that will determine exactly what area I'll need supplimentation in.
No more shotgun approach to buying vitamins! Thank God!
Some of you were asking how this is going and so far so good, even though it got off to a rough start.
The trainer I started with landed up leaving about 4-5 sessions in so I became 'orphaned' for a month or so.
I was about to go one Sat. to find out what happened when I got a call the Thursday before from a new guy who was going to take over my sessions.
Cool!
Lands up this guy is ex-military from out West (Edmonton) but has been doing personal training for the last 4 years.
Nice guy, not the barking Sarge-type you might have going through your heads right about now.
We started in the beginning of May and after one month (4 weeks) have lost 10pds and 2% of body fat.
He wants to put me up on gym wall....lol!
I'm about 1/2 way through the original sessions and have ordered more; wish me luck!

i just started with a personal trainer 3 weeks ago and on friday i'm finishing the first training package. i've made so much progress in such little time that he's run out of stuff to do with me within the 'basic' package. funny enough though i've only been really sore the first two times, every other time i've felt like going back the next day. but, honestly, not that i have much body fat i need to loose (~6kg i think to reach my 'ideal weight), - just the mere fact of getting in shape, doing cardio & toning, eating consciously well & fitting into my new clothes - besides the fact that he is cute & hot (great motivational factor!!
hehehe!) i feel absolutely revived and refreshed. now i'm wondering why the hell i've put this off for so long??? this is my new addiction! love feeling & looking good!
for whoever is having second thoughts - just do it! the rewards are so amazing! i see it with myself...it takes the smallest effort to see the first real results within the littlest time and that is the best 'high' to be on!
disko-kandi and tatgirl that's awesome!!
You're going to be like brand new women when you're done (or does one ever finish?)...hubba hubba

To get everything you need from food, you need to eat alot of it...which also comes with alot of calories. Supplementation does fill a necessary gap for some people. "in fact if you know exactly what they put in that powder to call it protein, you'd be really surprised." Proof??? "too much vitamins could deteriote your digestive tract and enzyme activity in your stomach." Absurd. Which vitamins cause this? I suppose vitamin C? "don't go out and drink protein shakes and vitamin supplements if you don't know what the fuck is going on in this world of kinesiology and nutrition." Absurd and elitist. Supplements are regulated. And the Canadian gov't is quite strict. Christ we can't even buy Stevia at very many places in Canada! What's your fear of supplements? Your taking what the forth year nutrition prof. has fed you as gospel. Mistake! "only 5-10% of protein is used for energy substrates." Yeah but alot of the rest of it used in its amino acid form for hormone production. In the gentleman asking for advices' case and most importantly, natually produced testosterone. And for God sakes don't talk to a dietician either....they are waaay behind in thinking on this stuff too. They'll speak to you like this guy did..... |
my dieting secret is don't eat late, and keep pushing the time back earlier and earlier. I never eat a big meal for dinner, and usually have it around 5-6pm and that is it for the day. Also, a healthy and nutritious breakfast if you am'er's have it in you to wake up slightly earlier. Doing the workout video 'slimin6' consistantly and sticking to a healthy diet (i'm eating probably less then half my required daily calorie intake, but still getting proper nutrition in. I've lost about 20lbs. in 2 months. At the rate i'm going i'll have nice abs by the end of summer!
ps. the hardcore dieting has not been for the full two months, only maybe 3 weeks of it.
