Well I'm known for my long reviews so I'll try to keep this one as short as possible.

I waited in line from 11:30-1...which really sucked...however when I paid the chic gave me 2 tickets by accident so Josh and I split the price and it still only ended up costing us 20 bucks.

The club itself was really nice! It was a good size, the music was perfect volume and I loved the upstairs. There were 2 things I didn't like though...the little edge on the dance floor that I tripped on so many times, and the carpet upstairs that made it hard to dance on!

Deep Dish was AMAZING, though I was a little upset they didn't actually spin 8 hours. Great tracks though, I lovede the dirty beats! 2 Remixes of Talk by Coldplay (that second one Jon called out...I'll admit you stumped me), Speed of Sound - Coldplay (they have the BEST remixes), the world is mine - david guetta, that Doors remix by Adam Freeland, What else is there - Royksopp (HOLY SHIT!), Say Hello, but the highlight of my night for sure was Hung Up by Madonna mixed with Blue Monday from Orgy...someone PLEASE ID this track/artist!

It was great to meet so many faces I don't get to see b/c of my trance parties..abelfunk, plump_funk, the wiz, Sly_Guy, illiptikal_orbitz, floorwhore, jon jon (finally, I kicked your ass in our dance off!)...any others I forget...there were so many! It was also great to see a lot of people I don't regularly see (Rj...you made my night)

All in all it was a fantastic night! Glad I came out!!
Happy freaking Birthday Kelly!!

The second one without the vocals is JXL's I think? First one was better.

Initial comment...

DD only played 6 hours. Advertised as 8 hour set.

ok, here we go:

- Venue is beautiful, i love this club
- DeepDish were amazing all night except for an hour of fluff (trance)
- Apparently I wear a hat too much, cause no one knew who I was lol
- The HDT are gonna have to 'bring' more than that to the table..lol
- Style Code = bright green trucker hat and bright green lai
- Sound was perfect
- Couldn't have asked for a better group of people to party with
- Josh...those were just what the doctor ordered, thanks
- Sacramento sucks ass
- Beat it...

I think not Steve...you may have been bringing it some what, but I believe I saw you resting a lot more than Nada or myself! Not to mention both of us got a number of compliments from random strangers on our dancing...BOO YA! Haha

J/k, it was great to see you...let me know how that satelitte TV phone is coming.

Okay time for a few bullets...

- beautiful club, wicked layout, plenty of room to chill upstairs and still hear the music

- coat check was tres slow, no biggie though

- not to be a huge hick, but the boudoir bathrooms, holy shit! That was so fucking luxurious!

- line up was no stress at all, got there early, waited 25 minutes, got carded, got in. The "frisk" however was very second rate, quite rushed which always scares me

- adored Copeland's opening set, great warm up

- The Dish rocked my socks off once again, a little sloppy midway through the night though and I really was not digging the trancey prog business that went on for a good 2 hours

- AH, HUNG UP! still such a wicked track, amazing

- I concur with Jon, Nada owns the dance floor, sick

- sound was excellent, no ringing ears today and I found it to be the perfect volume in the club

- nice to finally meet you Lisa Loo!!!

- as always great to party with everyone again, My friend Lindsay had a great time and felt so welcomed into the group, such wicked people

alright, thats it for now, im sure ill have more to say later

someone messaged me last night saying they were barred entry because of their Addidas shoes. Dress codes (or worse, arbitrarily enforced ones) are fucking lame.

I need to confirm that they never did get in...if that's the case, I will *never* go there, on principle alone. Too bad, they seem to be bringing in some good talent.

i wore Adidas at the party last nite .. tho they were 35th Anniversary Black Etched Superstars .. so they were too damn slick not to let in..

good news...his MSN tag suggested otherwise

I'm glad the night wasn't ruined, but he's got more patience than I have, it seems! I'll get the full review later tonight...

great night overall
deep dish OWNED me for the whole 6 hrs
beautiful club and really friendly staff
waiting in the guestlist line from 10:30 to 12:30 was a bit annoying but i was SO excited when we actually got in
did anyone else think the sound system was sub par? during one of those coldplay remixed it sounded like the speakers had been blown.
but i will definitely be back to TIL soon

Awesome night. Good times, waiting in line that long SUCKED though.

(brain still at the club...must use fragmented sentences)

I love this club.
Was my first time there and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Real classy joint. Reminded me of like a classic ski lodge - chandelleir (sp?), big throne chairs, old wall paper, wood interior - very posh. Drinks were pretty expensive, but the bartenders were cute. As for the wait, I waited about 20 minutes but I think that's a decent time to wait. It's no fun if you can just walk in, you've got to wait in the cold for deep dish and appreciate it when you get inside.
Now for Deep Dish...
Unbelievable!
THey layed down some sick tracks - my fav was the Adam Freeland remix of that doors track... Not sure if it's released yet, but it was a great track to end the night with. Their set was pretty mixed up - which was nice. THey could hold a nice trance melody, dirty techno bassline and finish it off with some familior breaks.
I went to the comfort zone afterwards - not quitesure what to think of that... definitely sucked some class out of my club selection, but nevertheless it had some pumpin choons.
alright im off,
jess

first time there, crazy lines, normal line moved the fastest..got there at 1030 and was in by 11. All the other lines seemed to be at a stand still.
-coatcheck needs work
-club was way way too packed, hard to walk anywhere downstairs, so i was upstairs most of the night.
- sound system in there is incredible, who ever designed the layout and position of the speakers actually has a brain, it was really well done.. espically with that array of tweeters on the roof in the center, makes a huge diff.. really clear sound.. upstairs is good too, not too loud so u can talk...can see how it was too lound on the dance floor though, but at least its good quality loud, not like koolhaus for example.

- copelands opening set was very very good
- love how deepdish cranks the volume just as they go on lol
- their set was great from 1220 when they got on, till around 330..then they went into some rock crap like madonna, can u feel it, I'm sure some people love those songs but DD totally lost the crowds attention, was funny watchin from above. That rock stint caused a lot of people to leave i think, didn't really have any flow, was more like individual songs just being mixed together at the end. Didn't start getting good again till around when i left at 430, but i figured I'd have to stay till the end cause they had just started building up again.

I thought their set at guv was better...when they peaked that set at like 7 it was just fucking insane, but then the venue is totally diff. They didn't come close to the energy level they had going at guv.

Was definately worth going to, but if you didn't go.. u didn't really miss anything.

EDIT - suprised no one mentioned
david guetta - the world is mine
police - S.O.S.
armin - who is watching

Well, after all those TOTA worries of dress code and "21+" etc, they didn't bother really enforcing either! In fact they didn't even check my ID, nor spend time assessing my "trendiness."

Well I am the one that had the problem with the entry. I got to the club at 11 after work meetings downtown the previous 2 days - line up - or rather the crowd standing in front of the bouncers - same old TIL - was too much - so I went to another bar to meet up with co-workers and headed back at 2:30 with 7 co-workers. I had been wearing dress shoes and jacket all day so I had changed to jeans, tshirt with a shirt over top and white adidas trainers (only wore 10 times maybe) was told by the bouncer I couldn't go in because of my shoes - I questioned them about the policy but in their typical TIL bouncer style they didn't have time to talk or listen to anything. If I wasn't at work meetings I wouldn't have been able to get dress shoes easily from home and wold have missed Deep Dish. Went back to my hotel, changed my shoes, went back and got in. Once inside I noticed hundreds of other people with running shoes on, old, dirty, WTF?

Wasn't going to let it ruin my night, music was great. Will go back next week for Scumfrog - but that will probably be it.

As I stated in the event listing - this "style code" is stupid. If you want a dress code, have a dress code - don't leave it up to the bouncers - obviously the only reason I didn't get in was because the bouncers didn't like my shoes because I walked right in after changing in dress shoes.
