Well, it's my first party in Melbourne... and the biggest party I ever been too!! I don't really know what to say. Guess, firstly, glad I did this whole thing sober... cause I had an amazing time!!!

Music... Good... until the DJ that was playing from, atleast 7:30-8pm... probably the WORST DJ I EVER HEARD... EVERY single mix was a total Trainwreck!!! Who the hell was playing at this time... killed alot fo the vibe for me, I was really really pissed off that they let somebody who stunk that much play infront of a crowd like that! Seriously... if I was running this event and heard the shit he was trying to pull off... Dude wouldn't have gottne paid and been banned for life from ever DJing again! Very sorry, but it was the worst I've EVER heard... and I've heard ALOT of bad DJ's (including the ones learning in my apartment)!!!

OK, back on topic.. what was the topic... Oh yeah... ASS! LOL. Again, not by my nature to comment on the women... but Holy crap... I can't wait to move to Melbourne permanently! I've never seen so many beautiful women in my life! Musta fallen in love a hundred times over again! Yet, I didn't have to courage to speak to one of them
How many times my friends girlfriend told me all I had to do was open my mouth and they'd fall in love with the Canadian accent... but I think "she" loved it more than anything

People of Melbourne..!!! You rock!!! You've captured my heart and really can't wait to come back party again! Met the nicest people in my time here, who genuinely take interest in meeting someone new! You've made me feel more than welcome in your city, and can see why it was voted the 2nd best city in the world to live in!!!
hehe, Vancouver was voted #1

PICS TO COME!!!!

I didn't want this day to end... and I'm home earlier than anyone, this sucks!

Posted by Mortyman on Mar-13-2006 01:11:

Here ya go!
PICS!!

Posted by queen_vee on Mar-13-2006 05:20:

Those of you who elected to miss this MISSED OUT!!

Probably the best event I've been to, you couldn't have asked for a better crowd, better numbers, better weather, better value, better set up or better tunes!

Deep Dish's Dreams, Rock and Roll All Night, Sweet Dreams, Evermore, Groove Is In The Heart, It's a Long Way to the Top, Insomnia were just some of the seriously big moments of the day up on main stage, and there really were just so many, it was unbelievable.

Massive congrats to kiss, can't believe a first off event could even possibly have pulled in the numbers or created the amazing atmosphere that it did. Seriously wow!

awesome day/night! definately one of the best events ive been to for sure. Big props to kiss for putting on a great show and i definately hope that the funds raised from the event can go a long way to getting them the transmitter they need to broadcast to wider frequencies!

lol yeah acid jacks were the DJs who would trainwreck into every track.
Dirty Laundry fkn owned! and quinny and mangans closing set... perfect!
awesome event

Posted by Mortyman on Mar-13-2006 13:20:

Acid Jacks eh? What the hell's the story with this guy, or guys???
Honestly, worst performance ever!

Posted by Philby on Mar-13-2006 13:23:

mortyman which one are you in the photos?

What a great party! Arrived at about 1.30pm and stayed until we were kicked out! Managed to catch Mr Strangis in action (nice work), Gavin Keitel (Hugg & Pepp FTW), Miss Chris, Phil K (who played Justin Timberlake & shocked me a little) until his sound problems were too much to handle. The hip hop acts were the best part of the day. I saw a group called Phrase for the first time (after some advice from people I met) and Bliss N Eso were simply awesome.

Sean Quinn and Dan Mangans set went off. The view from the balcony was awesome with people jumping and screaming.

Dont think I saw any TA's there. You all seriously missed a great party (but sure you were having fun somewhere else).

Will post all pics tonight but here is one.

Sorry to double post but Drew requested some skin. Not sure if she is your type mate but she sure got mine & Persia's attention.

Every single person i have spoken to has had nothing but great things to say about Sunday in the bowl (other than perhaps the heat but that's not really in anyone's control now is it). Kicking myself that i didn't head down in the end

Great to see such a massive turnout for an all local lineup. I've always thought that the absence of Kiss FM from our airwaves for the last four years has been a big factor in the "downturn" of the state of the scene in this fair town. Kiss always managed to galvanise the community together and as they start to polish up the state of the brand in 2006 it looks like they're doing it again

OMG! I owe you two apologies now babe! I missed your call and then ended up in a beanbag for the next 10 hours (wont post that picture).

One bad thing about it was that Jono Fernandez didnt end up playing it was only Ed Coleman *sucks*

And what the hell were Random doing on the mainstage. They gave me memories of "Kulcha"

Posted by RaVVaR on Mar-14-2006 04:09:

got there at 4.. caught Keitel's set then headed to main where the music was CRAP .. Only the last two hours did justice to the crowd imo. rap/rnb/whatever it is should never ever be performed at a party like that..

overall the whole party seemed lifeless with no real atmosphere until 8pm onwards and thats it .. good effort tho, i recommend Strangis to close next year, altho Quinn and Mangan ripped it something badd

Posted by FiK on Mar-15-2006 01:25:

awsome party!!
tickets were only $33, so i went there not worried how it would be or if it was a waste of money, and with no expectations i got blown away! the place was packed and the crowd was so much better than the stuck up summadayze pricks.
Music was good as well, got there for steve's set, opened with Say Hello and closed with Bad Deal, and as it was only 45 mins it felt like they were the only 2 songs
Dirty Laundry were awesome and after a few recomendations we headed to main stage to catch Acid Jacks who absolutely fuckn STUNK. maybe the fact that they had about 5 people behind the decks had something to do with it :\ they constantly seemed to be arguing with each other.
it was HOT but the highlight was the sprinkler tent they had over the walkway!!! Refreshing.

headed home at about 9:30 to get ready to go to Pharmacy, dont usually get along to the harder stuff but couldnt say no to Walt and Derb, both of whom blew the roof of the place. Hard trance as it should be, altho the heat was almost unbearable at times.
Great night!!

bring on KvA now
