and those that are with you...ARE THE ONES SAVING MONEY!

i love being single...save me some money for trips like utah and possibly vermont...HOW IT IS SON HOW IT IS LOL

sorry monday morning with extra large coffee and a great weekend of snow! i'm loving it...

on another note, all you couples wine, dine, romance each other, it's totally worth it to indulge in each others presence...something I kinda miss, but understand that it'll really work when the right one finds me! Happy VDay aka Spend a fuckton of money...

Whenever I go from being single to dating someone (happens too often) I very quickly realize whether I really like her or whether I'm just after the female company. If I get concerned about all the money I'm spending (movies, meals suddenly costing twice as much) it means I don't really like her. If we hang out and do stuff without me thinking once about money then I think it's more genuine.

... just my filter process ...

hmm ... v-day? might just have to go down to gallagher's 2000.

happy valentine's day everyone!
mine has been great not just because my bf is sooo romantic (but alas, very far away)...

... it's also wonderful because I found out today that my mom is healthy as healthy can be. we have had quite a scare for the last month or so and my whole family has been on edge because of it. today she got her test results back & everything is going to be fine!

I'm glad everything is well for you!

As for me. It seems my Valentine is going to be working late tonight. Alot of people in her office are freaking out that they wont be able to make their dates tonight. So we decided to hang tomorrow. Where to put the flowers now.... I wonder how the city is gonna be like tonight in terms of restaurants.

Wow, I'm stuffed. Steak au Poivre w/ bourbon and cream sauce, two 2/3 lb. New Zealand cold water lobster tails, sauteed portabello mushroom caps and a 1997 Cote d' Or that was more expensive than I planned to spend. All cooked at home. We also got a raspberry cheesecake and a 3 pear cheesecake from Whole Foods that I can't take credit for that we'll eat in 20 minutes

I AM THE IVORY IRON CHEF!!!!!!!!

wow that sounds AWESOME, whoa!!! how long did that take you to prepare?

Less than 45 minutes. The steak is pan-fried, 3 minutes a side, then you make the sauce in the same pan which takes longer because you boil off the cream and alcohol until it thickens. The lobsters are steamed for like 7 minutes

that sounds great

my version

use the same steak fried pan and drop a 1/2 cup of cream
bring it to a simmer and add 1/2 cup of marsala
splash with white wine
add mushrooms and onions to the sauce (sometimes i add green peas)
simmer till thick
and pour over steak
