I'm pretty amazed over that style and both Mathias Fredriksson's and Bjrn Lind's performances. One pumping up the tempo, while the other won the sprint. Great job!

Johnny "Weird" in 2nd place in men's figure skating after the short program

in women's hockey, US had to come back from being down 3-1 to Finland

the Italian fans went crazy (and understandably so) when their team scored their first and only goal of the Olympics, against Russia.
Great for them that they didn't get shut out completely.

Tally for Canada so far is 36-1

Womens speedskating final ended up with a chinese competer being disqualified..

..another won.

Haha, I agree

I'll be watching them at school until 14 or something, then I'll come home and watch Sweden vs. Russia.

men's team wins over Sweden, 10-6

interesting how so much curling is being shown during the day on CNBC

Posted by zoric on Feb-16-2006 18:39:

Very much curling over here too, and NO, It's not Swedens day today even though we took a silver in the biathlon..

Posted by The_G0dfather on Feb-16-2006 20:25:

it's really been great winter olympics for Belgium

Posted by zoric on Feb-16-2006 21:43:

Snowboard Cross is pretty wicked

In women's skeleton, the gold medalist won less than 2 years after becoming a mother.
Great Britain get its first medal of the Games here
There's a German woman who competed despite being 3 months pregnant, and finished 4th
Too bad "Grandma Luge" broke her wrist in training, and wasn't able to compete

And I was right all along, USA wins the first gold medal in Men's Snowboard Cross, Hopefully tomorrow USA can get another in the Women's Snowboard Cross as well.

Posted by partyhopper on Feb-17-2006 17:36:

USA had a chance to get gold in the women's snowboard cross, and remain perfect in snowboarding, but the girl tried grabbing her board on the last jump and crashed. D'oh!
