I been to all the summerstages. First year was blah, cool cause it was a first experience, but Time of Our Lives 4X is a bit too much. Second year was fuckin nasty. Rain killed it a little, but musically, wtf. MINDFUCK. Last year looked like it was gonna be good til 2 hrs into the set he lost his flow and shit didnt go anywhere past 8 PM. Hopefully this year will be better musically.

Hi Chrstina,
Yes we do try to maintain a level of professionalism while bringing the
highest talent available to NYC. We appreciate your appreciation. Paul has a
very loyal following and quite a huge fan base in NYC and we unfortunately
have a limited capacity in our venue. Unfortunately we have to keep the
prices relatively high while limiting the number of tickets available. This
way the venue is not over crowded and people are not turned away. At the
same time we can maintain the high standards by which we are all accustomd
to seeing and hearing our favorite dj's in including great sound, laser
shows etc. We are offering $40 tickets right now. if you click on this link,
http://www.ticketweb.com/user/?regi...404018&REFERRAL
_ID=119 and in the box marked promotional code, enter MADENYC you will be
able to purchase tickets for the reduced price. This offer will only be
available for a limited time. I hope you understand the issues at hand and
recognize that we are commited to bring the best possible experience to you
that we can.
Hope to see you there!

^ ooohhh yea... i remember this now...

haha, yep it is futile.

but guys: while i DO see your points (choobak/ryan) with regards to inflation, then how on earth do you explain paul doing 6-8 hour sets @ venues in berlin for $10-$15???

riddle me this. kthxbye.

Berlin's not as wealthy as NYC???? Berlin's his home??? The US is more litigious?? Beats me as to the real reasons. I'm just saying that years ago it was pretty expensive in today's dollars and the popularity has increased which also allows them to jack up the price. For all I know, insurance prices could be higher due to club closings/lawsuits over drug-related rave deaths, etc. I can't imagine jurys being kind to party promoters so they've got to cover their asses somehow. There's lots of possible contributing factors. All that i know is that there are a lot of people who still think it's worth the price, as shown by the fact that it always sells out.

yea. i wish a huge bunch of us could just do a boycott for once, enough to effectively decrease the price. not that that would increase the quality of pvd's sets but back to the principal of the matter...

BULL SHIT....no offense to made (as I do visit there board) but they are really just being assholes for this...it should be $25 now, I know it's only $5 but like everyone said by the end I bet you it will be $70 at the door and the ironic part is that I think the people standing outside of the gates listening to the same music we paid WAY TO MUCH for had a better time then we did. I say go fuck them and stand outside for FREE!!!

im sure being inside was pretty cool but i was one of the people outside and had a blast, only true EDM fans would stand otside the venue and dance for hours like that

Anyone I think i am gonna be outside for this one if I go...last year was my first time and I was less then impressed.

Because bitching the day before would get a lot done.

I think a petition would do a lot more then an email by 1 person. She was probably the only one to email MADE about the issue and to them, that is not a big deal at all. Now, imagine getting close to 1000 people to petition from TA and even MADE's site saying this is outrageous. Well that is a different story, being that it would be about 20% of the total audience that WOULD be there. I am all for a petition, so long as people are serious about it.

TA & Made are not 20% of the total audience.

They sold out last year and probably could have gotten away with selling tickets for $100+ the day of...

The event this year is "all ages" so there will be even more people looking for tickets.

I am just saying...

I mean I could get friends of mine who are going to sign the petition as well as other people doing the same. And last year's event was all ages as well.

I think it was changed to 18+?

I agree with you...but Made well Made what can I say about them...as we all know they ran parties at ARC and did a good job, at that time they where there for the people, the fans, the club goers, now you get onto there message boards and its the same three people posting cause Made is a bunch of jerks...I'll probably get banned from the site just for writing this on TA...They are now in it for the almighty dollar....Example Danny Howells just to be there pride and joy, he would always come into the city and they would throw his events but as we all know his next visit is to Crobar and its not by Made Events, for me that would be a big wake-up call, cause I believe that Made and Danny could have partnered together and pulled off an event at Crobar. They where a good promotion group and I will still head out to some of there parties but for the most part they just aren't all that...They know they can get people to pay WAY TOO much and so they are going to CHARGE WAY TOO much. I think your idea of having people sign something is good but there heads are so far up there asses I really don't think its going to make a difference. Honestly it might suck but the only way its gonna change is if people stop supporting them........

A petition could work if people sign it and stick to what they intended on doing. So if you had, lets just say, 2000 people sign this thing and even 1000 of those 2000 still went anyway, what was the point? To be honest, petition or no petition, chances are I am not going to this thing because I'd rather go to 114 here in Philly and pay at most $10 cover to see fucking Andy Moor or Alex MORPH. DJ's in which I think are better then PvD anyway. But that is besides the point. I thought even $40 for Armin was outrageous. Its a club so its sad to see that at this point and time it has become a concert to the masses. Probably another reason why I have made less trips to NYC since when I first started. It is just way too expensive to just want to go out, dance and listen to great music.

Yeah I'm sure I'll be there provided I can skip out on work

I know I'm late with this but now I finally understand what's been going on w/the prices for PvD tickets. 'Cause I'm over here like "what gives them the right to charge 60 bucks for Roseland. It's not like PvD can fly or shoot lasers out of his eyes or anything." But now I see that it's the venue that we're paying for, more than it is the DJ.

Crobar had lasers Sept 30th 2005 for $35 a ticket.

lol. Yeah I remember, that was nuts. But I mean idk ... last PvD @ Summerstage was 30 (+$10). Roxy was 40 (+$10), Roseland 50 (+$10), Summerstage 30 (+$10). Even though PvD is "#1" and whatnot, the prices seem to go up and down w/the venues. I could be wrong though. Maybe there's some other reason

The ONLY thing I can think of is for using the space at central park to have the show. And since I nor probably no one else knows what cost that is, we can't determine if they are still ripping us off with these ticket prices.
