I work in a store that has a lot of people purchasing with credit cards, and from time to time you need to have some other sort of Identification, sometimes having to ring the credit card company up to verify, so as you live in the US I reckon it'd would have been easier just to get some ID from you.
not that it matters, HTFR is shite

Yep, for some strange reason, HTFR was 'record shop of the week' in Mixmag (UK) ages ago, and the people that work there look like (and talk like, from their comments) proper twats

I can never find good stuff there. maybe 1 or 2 but it is not worth it.

Posted by P`zazz on Jul-03-2002 00:06:

Dunno, a while back I ordered a few records from them and they arrived quickly and in good shape.

Sneaker Pimp

I have used Htfr to buy my technics and other stuff. i found the srvice to be ok it could of been better.

but barry for them to copy records is illegal so you should question them about their illegal activiities!

OK.. so the real question is how much did htfr pay you to say this? or even better do you help run this illegal organization? Its clearly obvious that these guys are illegally making bootleg copies of tracks, "without the producers permission" and even worse selling them as vinyl quality records? not to mention incorrect labeling on the vinyls. SO in reply YES HTFR IS crap

Ive bought records from www.danceimports.com, gem, satellite, and simply also local record stores which is a great resource to be greatly looked into as was mentioned before!.

If your in toronto..

check out the pit if you like to really dig deep into the music you like.

try releaserecords, for the chart topping hit tracks that all the big djs play

Play de record for older more rarer stuff you want discounted (search through the alphabetized bins.)

If your in montreal:

try mem records they got loads of good stuff there (trance wise)

Anything else go shoot. We're trying to solve a problem here not just play devils advocate or LIE TO just piss everyone off

lets be reasonable! and if anyone knows any more records stores we should make a list for canada and even other countries..

Hey peoples I'd just thought I'd add my experiences with online record stores. I live in Perth Australia so this is a aussie perspective.

www.only-djs.com

I ordered from these guys because they had some abosulte classics. I got Binary Finary "1999", Tiesto "In my Memory" album pack, Mauro Picotto "Baguette" and CJ Bolland "The Prophet"

The Vinyl arrived in perfect condition and I was very pleased the delivery time was about a week. But they do have a very high shipping costs so all up it was about $200 AUD. But I was prepared to pay it to get my hands on these classics. I'm pretty sure they sent a confirmation email but I can not entirely remember

www.dotvinyl.com

I have ordered three times from these guys. The first two times the orders came relatively quickly, about a week and a half. The records arrived in perfect condition once again. For 4 records it cost around $110. So thats around $27.50. But considering we are a bit behind in Australia and vinyl cost about $19 here anyway its a small price to pay for some awesome records. The first orders arrived but I am still waiting on my 3rd order and it has been 3 weeks. So from the first two orders I was extremely happy but I've still haven't recieved my third order. Overall though I'm pretty happy as long as my third order arrives. They also send out good confirmation emails.

There is nothing worse than waiting for vinyl But when u get them its the best fricken feeling

P.S. stay away from HTFR

Well My vinyl from DOTVINYL has come and in perfect nick. Apparently there was a problem with the shipment and it got sent back to them. But that was rectified and I recieved it and now I am a happy Tranceaddict

Moer probs with HTFR

A mate of mine experienced the same shit! It was a while back but they sent some totally different mix of that he ordered! Abosolute bollocks! He aint used them since. i personally have never thought of using them, cos ive heard sp many stories about cock-ups!
Any-one know any decent record shops online?

Posted by IronDragon on Aug-13-2002 22:32:

no problems here

I have ordered from htfr twice and both times I was sent the correct records and quickly. The only "problem" is that they did not have two records in stock that I ordered and were displayed as in stock (Rapid Eye-Circa Forever, Hemstock and Jennings-Crimson Soil) but that's minor to me.

Posted by b0bb0 on Aug-14-2002 17:50:

See sig for the vinyls im lookin for, if anyone sees em online lemme know..

Posted by djrichy on Aug-29-2002 13:17:

i use chemical-records. ive not had a single problem with them.

Posted by hey cheggy on Sep-03-2002 15:00:

HTFR is terrible. They will often accept your order and take your money and then tell you it's out of stock and that they will give it to you when it comes back in stock.. which can be a long time.

I have never had, or heard of, any problems with juno. They deliver in 6 days to Australia which is damn quick. Also, abovethesky is great and replayrecords is good for older stuff, but you pay quite a bit for them.

Posted by Tom_cowan on Sep-09-2002 15:04:

www.juno.co.uk
www.tuneinn.com or .co.uk i cant remember

they both use the same distrubutor but there both awesome. I know scot bond and eddie halliwell use tuneinn neway, i wana get a job there!

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Sep-09-2002 15:50:

woa!! the shipping at dancegrooves.com for 1 record to the uk is £6.21. Thats f00king insane! i cant understand why thats so expensive. I mean i hav shipped records to america for £3.00 so why does it cost £6 to ship a record thru europe (i think dancegrooves are based in europe arent they?)

either way its a f00king disgrace. They hav a vinyl i desperately need but i cant afford £13 for one tune!! argh bastards

Posted by jåcë on Sep-23-2002 12:43:

anyone know how much chemical-records charge for shipping overseas?

Posted by DJ Dowlz on Sep-25-2002 07:53:

I'll tell you after I've shipped my order tonight. I've heard it's cheaper than juno (thus balancing the higher prices the chemical charge)

Posted by jåcë on Sep-26-2002 13:00:

cool, please let me know

Posted by DJ Dowlz on Oct-03-2002 05:05:

Shipping for 9 records from chemicals was 13.50 pounds. That's the cheapest I've seen anywhere and quite easily makes up for the slightly higher prices.

Posted by SeventhSun on Oct-03-2002 15:10:

Talking Nobody Mentioned www.dancegrooves.com

I use www.dancegrooves.com only for new stuff.
theyre in holland- i'm in Canada get the stuff within 5 days!

Peace.

Posted by DJ Dowlz on Oct-04-2002 00:30:

Wow that cybercd.de site has a lot of stuff!!! Has anybody had any experience of them? Does stuff that they say will take 3 week really come in 3 weeks?

Posted by SeventhSun on Oct-05-2002 14:12:

Ive used cybercd a few times they vary in shipping times

the fastest ive gotten a rare record was a week

but I waited 6 months for Children of paradise

but thne again couldn't find it for the life of me anywhere else

These guys will e-mail u with updates on your order too
peace

The chosen one
