Half the people there dont know who the Wolfpack are, and if they learn for teh first time that its the farmteam for the Rangers, the next morning they will forget all about it.

The farmteams are not as big in hockey as they are in baseball. The farmteams in baseball are used WAY more.

^^ same thing for someone who doesn't follow baseball or their own local team closely. you're digging yourself a bigger grave by making these generalizations. minor leaguers in hockey can also toil for years w/o making it through. there're call-ups throughout the year because of injuries, same as in baseball. i'm not sure how you can say that the minor leagues are not as important in hockey as in baseball, as they pretty much serve the same function: to replenish at the nhl level,to provide bodies when people are injured, and overall to develop young players so that they are ready for the next level.

Was just gonna say that Sal. Ask a general baseball fan about the Minors and they have no idea. I mean... Joe Beningo didn't start talking about Brian Bannister until this Spring. He's been in the Mets minors for years. Mike Francessa said, two years ago, "Who is David Wright? No one cares about kids like that." So... yeah... generalizations apply for both sports.

On another note... Heilman is back in the pen (told you Vlad) and Bannister is the Mets 5th starter.

WACK! I have a hard time being excited about the Mets this year because the rotation is pretty weak.

Anyone getting annoyed that people are more concerned with their "fantasy" teams than their true hometown heroes? I respect any guy that CAN play, but sheat I can't root for a red sock...

The only thing about Fantasy that bothers me is when two teams are playing each other... let's say... the Mets and the Phillies. Now, a person watching the game is a Mets fan. And he has Chase Utley (from the Phillies) on his team. He then says, "I hope Chase hits 3 HRs today... but the Mets still win." That bothers me. A lot.

Im not gonna sweat it, I have Sheilds, Farnsworth and Heilman as ERA and WHIP control.

I think Heilman will get his playing time, I think he could start 15-20 games... maybe more depending on how well the rotation works the way it is.

Farnsworth might get alot of playing time too considering that the Yanks pen isnt healthy, as usual, and that they can be terribly inconsistent.

Shea sure has a different atmosphere in the 9th with Wagner as the closer. The crowd was electric on every pitch he threw - I hope that continues throughout the season.

We need to have a series of TA meetups during interleague play... one at Shea St. and one at Yankee St.

Get a bunch of tickets around each other and than bash each other relentlessly when your team is winning. I think it would be alot of fun... Brian, do you know if the tickets around your seats are bought out? Than again, youre in the bleachers, and I dont know how wise it would be for a Met fan to be there. (Not talking about myself of course ).

All subway series and "boston" LOL tickets are always too hard to get. Even as a partial season holder, it's like hell or high water with my season splitter.

I love this whole "Billy Wagner can't use 'Enter Sandman'" thing that's going on. It's one of the most absurd thigns I've ever heard discussed on sports radio... and with M&MD, there's been a ton of absurd things.
